The Vine and the Branches

15 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he cleanses and repeatedly prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.

So you think your life should be getting easier and easier, but it isn't. You face new trials like every other day and you're asking "why?!".

Well John 15:2 tells us why. It's all happening because God wants to make you a better person.

"Why can't I just become a better person without all this hard work?" you may ask. Well "for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness." (James 1:3)

We need steadfastness, we need our characters to be refined. Our bad parts to be skimmed of like when metals are heated and the impurities are skimmed off.

"Ughh.." you might still be thinking. But, God promises to be there with us through it all! Isaiah 43:2->When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.
