You and Nick are sinds you can imagine best friend. He lived in the same neighborhood as yours and your dad worked with his.

So you literally grow up together. But when he moved out to Los Angeles living his dream something broke down in you.

Nothing was the same anymore. The ice cream you both ate didn't have the same taste. The movie nights were now lonely and dark.

And a feeling that you thought that you will never think came up.

Love.

A feeling who made you search him at Instagram. Looking at the new life he was living.

You were also living a life. But you were just to busy with college that you didn't make so much friends.

But the worst feeling you ever had was seeing him happy. With a girl that wasn't you.

As a good friend and because you missed him you thought that sending a message could be nice.

So after long thinking you send something.

Hi, i know it's been a long time but just want to take some news hoping that you're okay...

You never waited so long for a answer. Hours became days and days became months you were giving it up.

So you didn't except that he would be back at New-Jersey for Christmas.

Like always you spend Christmas with the Mara family and just had a surprised look when you saw him.

"Nick..." you were speechless. He was there standing in middle of the kitchen laughing with his mom.

When he heard your voice immediately a smile started to make his way to his lips.

"Y/N!" He spins to face you and take you in a warm hug. Your heart was racing and you didn't know why.

He was a friend and had a girlfriends. "How are you?" The smile on you lips was the brightest smile he ever saw.

"Fine! I mean it's good to be home." He said while scratching his neck.

"I'm sorry i didn't buy you something this year." You said while looking at your shoes.

"Oh, it's nothing...I wasn't expected today normally i had to go to my ex but yeah she's my ex now." And he chuckled.

"Oh. Bad news." "Guys are you coming to eat?"  Nicks mother asked. You both nod and get to the table.

It was a nice evening. Evrybody was laughing. But you were the most happiest. Nick was there. So when you all sat down to open your gifts.

You didn't except that Nick bought you one. "Nick you didn't had to." You said with tears. "Why are you crying you didn't open it sis!" Your older brother laughed.

Everybody was looking at you. Like they knew what for present it was. You gasp when you saw a wonderful necklace.

"Nick." Again you were speechless. "Omg thank you!" And you hugged him. Wishing never to let go.

After the opening of the gifts you were just hanging around with a cup of hot chocolate.

Not knowing that above your head a mistletoe was hanging there.

"Hey." You looked at Nick who was making his way to you. "Hi." You said and took a sip.

The fact that he was smiling made you soft. You were in love with this boy but would never admit it.

"I missed you." You finally say after a akward silence. "Actually i missed you too and i'm glad that i'm here back home.... with you."

You smile quickly and looked at your cup. "So how long are you staying?" "Till New Year than i'm going back."

"Oh." Was your only answer. "OMG NICK AND Y/N ARE STANDING BELOW A MISTLETOE!" Your brothe screamd.

You looked above and then at Nick. "It's tradition." You say. And put your cup down, he smiled and started to kiss you soflty.

Never letting you go. It was a libe kiss. And then you knew. You were more than a childhood best friend.
