Chapter 3: Champion

Kalos League Finals: (Ash vs Alain)

"Charizard!! Blastburn!!!" Alain commanded his Mega Charizard X as he punched the ground.

"Now, Charizard!! you use Blastburn too!!!" Ash ordered his strongest fire type, who was currently in his X form.

Both Mega Charizards reared back, fiery blue flames engulfed their bodies as they punched the ground with all their might, sending a massive shockwave of heat energy. Both Blastburn attacks collided with one another, creating a huge smoke cloud that covered the entire battlefield.

"Charizard, use Dragon Tail now!!!" Ash ordered.

Ash's Charizard emerged from the smoke with his tail coated in green dragon-like scales. He does a backflip before striking Alain's Charizard on the head with Dragon Tail, sending him spiraling to the ground and winding him for a few seconds.

"Quick Charizard! Get up and use Dragon Claw!" Alain ordered.

"Dragon Pulse!! Full power, Now!!!" Ash roared

Just as Alain's Charizard was about to get back on his knees and flew up to use Dragon Claw on his opponent, Ash's Charizard shot a huge blast of multi-coloured draconic energy that completely engulfed his opponent and the whole battlefield. Alain's Charizard groaned in pain as he finally reached his limit and fall back on the ground. The mega evolution wore off, causing him to revert back to his base form and lie fainted on the battlefield.

"Alain's Charizard is unable to battle, Ash's Charizard wins. So the winner of this year's Kalos League is ASH KETCHUM!!!" The referee announced as he raised his flag towards Ash's side, guesturing him as winner as the crowd roared in excitement.

Ash was stunned for a few seconds before running up to his Charizard in sheer delight. Charizard roared in victory as he reverted from his X form, just in time for Ash to thank him over and over.

"Charizard! Thanks buddy! We finally did it!" Ash exclaimed in joy as he and Pikachu hugged him. Charizard nodded and smiled back at his trainer, clearly enjoy basking in his trainer's praise.

At that moment, four of his Pokemon, comprised of Sceptile, Hawlucha, Noivern and Talonflame self-released themselves from their Pokeballs and happily hugged him as well.

Alain then approached Ash and his Pokemon, supporting his Charizard with his arm, who was grunting at Ash and his Pokemon as a sign of respect. "Congrats Ash, you finally beat me. You and all your Pokemon showed a powerful bond and battle with their fullest potential. I hope we'll battle again someday, right?" Alain said as he held his right hand out.

Ash shook his hand and replied, "You bet, Alain! I'll be looking foward for another great battle from you too!"

Ash and his Pokemon then went up the stands as Diantha handed him the Kalos League trophy, Ash stared at it proudly and by his side was all six of his Pokemon standing proudly beside him.

"I look foward to seeing you in the Elite Four Challenge, Ash." Diantha whispered as she handed Ash his trophy and winked at him.

Ash nodded confidentlu and look towards his Pokemon. All of them nodded in acknowledgement, knowing that they're ready to train even harder during their preparation for one of their trainer's toughest challenge...the Elite Four Challenge...

Two Years Later: (Ash's POV)

"Gardevoir! Put all your heart into one last Moonblast!!!!" Diantha ordered.
