Damian was in a bad mood.

He and Dick were currently in the middle of an argument. They were fighting in the garage of the Teen Titans tower. Dick was refusing to let Damian go out on patrol. He had gotten a stab wound from the battle earlier that morning, and Dick insisted that he needed rest to heal.

"Come on, Little D, be rational. You're not going to be able help people if you can't even help yourself. Go get in bed, the team's got it under control." The rest of the team shifted awkwardly on their feet as the boys argued. It had gone on for about fifteen minutes now, and they needed to head out to patrol. Jaime and Garfield were playing thumb war, both clearly getting agitated. Raven stood with her arms crossed watching the boys fight with an expressionless face. Kori's face continued to get more concerned; she didn't like it when any of the team members were fighting, even if they were brothers. She decided to step in before anything got worse.

"Um, excuse me, please, Dick? We really need to go. Please stop fighting now." Dick glanced at her, his face softening. They had just recently taken their relationship to the next level, moving in together in an apartment. They didn't live at the tower anymore, but they visited often.

"Sorry babe. Listen, Dami-" Damian growled, quickly cutting him off.

"I'm going and that's final! You imbeciles need me and-"

     "STOP!"

Everybody stared at Dick in shock, even Raven. He never yelled at any of the team. Especially Damian.

"That's just it Damian. You don't get to decide what's final or not. Kori is team leader, and has already told you repeatedly to go back to bed, and I am your brother, who has done the same! I'm warning you Damian, if you go on patrol tonight after being told to rest, I will send your ass back to Gotham!"

It was silent. Very silent. Dick thought that he saw tears well up in his brother's eyes. But there was no way. He must've been mistaken; Damian never showed any sign of emotion, much less tears. For a moment, Dick thought that he wasn't going to listen. But suddenly, the youngest Wayne whispered a harsh, "I hate you," and stalked away, leaving the team in a sullen silence.

...

After a long night of patrol, the titans were exhausted. (Excluding Damian of course.) They had stopped a couple of petty thieves, saved people from a fire, and stopped an almost rape. It had been a pretty quiet night, but nonetheless they had all had a long day.

In the elevator on the way up to the floor their rooms were on, Dick and Kori spoke quietly.

"Kori, do you think that I was too harsh? I feel awful about the way Damian and I spoke but... I don't regret it. It needed to be said. He shouldn't be patrolling when he's severely injured. Is it bad that I don't regret it?"

Kori paused a moment before answering.

"I believe the way in which you told him was wrong, but I completely agree on the fact that it needed to be said." Dick sighed in relief. It always made him feel better when Kori agreed with him.

"Maybe you should go speak to him?"

"Yeah, maybe I will. Thanks babe." The elevator dinged and they both stepped out, facing each other for a moment before Dick planted a quick kiss on her lips, and started to head to Damian's room. Kori smiled. How was she so lucky to be in love with such an amazing person? She headed off to her room, silently wishing Dick luck. He would need it, if he was trying to get Damian to forgive him.
