Groaning, Raven slowly sat up, stretching her arms above her head. Looking around, she noticed that she was in the batcave "hospital". But why...? Oh. The memories flooded her mind, and she winced, her head pounding. She had been in the park with Damian when she'd been stabbed.
Lifting her shirt, she saw a very thin line where the knife had entered her body. With Alfred's precise stitching, and her healing abilities, the scar would probably fade within the week.
Trying to untangle the tubes she was attached to, she didn't realize the presence beside her until she heard someone clear their throat. Turning, she saw that it was Alfred. "Alfred, thank you so much for fixing me up," she said with a tiny smile on her face.
Returning the smile, Alfred said, "It was a pleasure Miss Raven. Anything I can do for you?"
Shaking her head Raven said, "No, I don't think so." Alfred started to help her detach the tubes. "Actually," Raven started, blushing slightly. "Has Damian been by?"
Solemnly shaking his head, Alfred said, "I'm afraid not."
Frowning, Raven nodded, slowly getting up, but before she could, Alfred frantically pushed her back on her bed. "Miss Raven, you shouldn't be walking around, your stitches will pop!" Alfred exclaimed.
Getting up anyway, Raven lifted her shirt enough to show where she had gotten stabbed to show Alfred how much she progress she had made overnight. "Alfred, my wound is completely healed. I must've removed the stitches when I was asleep." Alfred shook his head, awestruck.
"Well bloody hell; go ahead and leave Miss Raven. I'll bring food up to your room promptly."
Smiling, Raven started to leave, calling out over her shoulder, "Thanks, Alfred."
"Anytime Miss!" Alfred called back as Raven left the room.
...
Heading for Damian's room, she was barely paying attention to her surroundings, lost in thought. Why hadn't Damian come by? She knew it wasn't a matter of Alfred letting him; after the surgery, him visiting shouldn't have been a problem.
But maybe she was just making this too big of a deal.
Maybe he knew that she was fine, so he didn't come.
Maybe he did come, but Alfred didn't see him.
...Maybe.
Arriving at his door, she tentatively knocked on the door. She didn't know why she felt so nervous. It was just Damian, right? She was just worried that maybe she had done something wrong. Was he pissed that she had let herself get stabbed?
She stood for a moment more and was about to knock on the door again when Damian slammed the door open. Raven jumped back slightly, startled.
"What do you want?" Damian sneered. Raven noticed that his eyes were bloodshot, as if he had been... crying?
"Damian, what's the matter?" Raven asked. She reached out to put a hand on Damian's cheek, but her hand was swatted away. Hurt, Raven took a step back. "What happened?"
Damian laughed bitterly. "What happened? What the hell do you think happened? Our whole relationship was a lie!"
Desperately shaking her head, her voice trembling, she said, "No, Damian, I care about you. What are you talking about?"
His face getting red, Damian's voice started to get louder and louder. "The only reason we're together is because Father asked you to; now get the fuck away! I don't want to see you!" With that being said, Damian slammed the door, leaving a stunned Raven behind.
