Miranda walked to the Volturi guards, being sheltered by Felix's massive body.

Demetri gave her and her old friend a surprise look and turns his head towards his master in questioning.

Aro didn't respond, but he smiled at them and shot his tracker an 'I know, I know' glare.

"Can we just go now?" She growled, uncomfortabling with the crimson eyes of the Volturi which are lying onto her.

"Oh, of course my dear."

Miranda put on her black jacket with a thumb hole as she turned towards Teresa who's braiding her hair.

"Braids? Really?"

"Shut the hell up. I need to always look perfect." The daughter of Remiel snarled as she tied her blonde hair up into a braid bonytail.

"Gimme my sword." She ordered.

"Excuse me? Am I your servant, little princess?"

"Arghhhh." Teresa rolled her eyes.

"Give me my swords, please."

Miranda smiled with triumph.

"That's more gentle."

She grabbed the swords and throw it to her sister.

"Thanks."

Raphael's daughter shook her shoulders in respond and walked to Felix.

"Hey." He turned and smiled as she sat down next to him.

"Hey."

"So, who exactly we are chasing?" She asked.

"Aro said the creator is in the edge of the city, maybe in the old house, according to the map. The others called him 'The Mask'."

"The Mask?"

"Yes. They say he wears an iron mask." He frowned.

"That's weird." Miranda raises her eyebrows and touches her chin.

"You never changed." He chuckles.

"Yeah?" She pull her hand out and turn to him.

"Do you remember when we were younger? You touch your chin everytime you felt stressed." Felix smiled.

"Oh, and you like to shake your legs when you felt unsafe." She laughs.

He turned to look in her blue eyes, his crimson irises shimmers.

"Uh...oh." She blinked, feeling a little bit nervous.

"Remember my word when we were at the river?"

"Uhh...yeah, of course." She frowned.

He smiled and moved his face closer, putting her hand on his arm, which is full of muscles.

"I'm much stronger now." He whispers and kisses her cheek lightly.

Miranda froze.

"We're here." Aro declaired, stopping in front of the old house.

"This one was abandoned a few decades ago, it was bought by a man named 'Shehab' two months ago." Teresa reports.

"Where is he now?"

"He never showed up at his golf club for a month now."

"Let's get inside." Demetri said and walk to the door.

"Demetri, wait!!" Miranda tried to stop him when she spotted the dimming mark on the wooden door.

As soon as the tracker touches the knob, the mark glowed into a gold, fiery color.

The mark of an eye. In a Nephilim magic sign, it was the symbol of defending and casting away.

Demetri was hitten by a flash of energy, he landed on his feet two metres away from the house and loses his balance a little bit.

"Whoah." He sighed.

"That mask one know how to use a Nephilim sign." Teresa mumbles, frowning.

Owen didn't say anything, he walks quickly to the door and wave his hand over the mark to make it unable to work properly.

"It's safe now, come."

Miranda turned to Felix and nodded a little bit, pulling her sword out.

"Be careful." He said, kissing her forehead gently.

She smiled back and kisses his cheek.

"We're here for a mission, not a romantic scene!!" Teresa shouted from the entrance, where all of the Nephilims have get in already.

"Oh, shut up." She rolled her eyes and ran into the house.

"She's cute, man." Demetri patted his best friend's shoulder and followed the Nephilim group.

The house is dark and have a slight stink, probably the roof had a few holes so the rain leaked into the house.

"Owen!!" Miranda hissed when the son of Raziel led them to the library on the 2nd floor and touched the door lightly.

He pushed the door open a little bit and turned to her, his lips curled into a smile.

"See? There's nothing."

Suddenly, a flash of dark figures attacked them. One pair of creepy hands dragged Owen out of the chaotic scene.

"Owen!!!!" Teresa yelled. A few moments later, she was dragged out too.

Miranda tried to grab Francis' hand as her eyes were blinded by a dark wings which surrounds and cutting her out of her team.

She heard Francis and Quentin's voice shouting out her name.

Felix's voice had faded in the vortex of winged vampires with the scary sound of breathing.

They drag her to the nearby forest, throwing her to the ground full of mosses and grass. The other vampires are waiting, with her team on their feet, all

She groaned and uses her arms to push herself up as one of the winged vampire kept her bat wings and walk to her, clenching her chin and held her face up.

The vampire closed her eyes, leaning her face backwards in an inhale motion, she open her eyes when she reached the top of her lungs and exhaled, dropping her head down to the normal range.

"I can feel her energy. So rich."

She then grinned.

"So delicious."

The winged female moved her face closer and was only a few centimetres distant from Miranda's face when the smooth voice stopped her.

"Patience, my child."

She quickly turned back, revealing the tall figure in a dark red cloak standing elegantly on the higher part of the ground behind them. The speaker's face was covered all over with a silver-like mask.

The Mask.

"Mother." The vampire nodded and look down, taking her hand off the Nephilim's chin as the masked one moved closer.

The white mist float in the air, making Miranda feel cold and unsure where exactly is she.

She turned to the team to make sure every one's fine. Suddenly, she found one missing.

Raphael's daughter quickly turned to the Mask.

"Where is Owen?" She asked, looking at the terrified and desperate face of the other Nephilims.

She got a soft, melodic but cold to the bone laugh.

The Mask turned to the side and gestured his...or her pale hand out. A blurred figure appears in the fog.

"My dear."

To her shock, the figure stepped out and walk to the Mask's arm.

He turned and smile at her, his amber eyes glow like a torch in the cold and misty area.

"Hey sister." Owen said.
