𐙚⋆˙⟡♡ | PAPER RINGS (💍) chapter zero: the night that changed everything
Tree Hill, North Carolina; Circa April 2004
Brenna Paige Davis.
The older twin sister of the infamous Brooke Davis. But if you put the two of them in a room together it would have been pretty hard to believe that they were related to one another, let alone twins. They were just that different. Brooke took more after their eldest sister Scarlett whereas Brenna was more like their older sister Avery. Like Scarlett, Brooke was a party girl and liked to go out and have fun with her friends and get drunk.
Whereas Brenna, liked to sit at home and read a book or do some homework that she had to get done before it was due. She liked reading, studying, watching old black and white movies but her favourite thing of all time was music. She wasn't really sure what it was about it, but it just spoke to her, so when she was eight she decided to buy a guitar with the money she had saved up from the time she started getting money from their parents.
It was probably the best thing that she had purchased for herself. Though her parents thought that it was a stupid dream to have, meaning they refused to get her lessons. So, that led Brenna to teaching herself to learn to play. She was absolutely awful at first, and all her sister ever did was complain about it so in the end she decided to take her guitar to her favourite place in their garden. The tree house their uncle and aunt made for them, seeing as they were the ones to basically raise them. But by the time she was ten she was the only one that went in the tree house, so it became her place.
From that moment on she was always there, with her guitar and a notebook. It started off as her just playing the guitar and making up tunes for songs, and when she was about thirteen she started writing her own songs that were personal to her. Because her dream was to be in a girl group, probably just her and one other girl. She'd play the guitar and do background vocals while her partner would sing all the songs, she thought that would have been a really fun idea.
Anyways, Brooke and Brenna were generally different people. They really only had one thing in common with each other, and that was the fact that they both liked cheering. They had gotten into it at a young age, Brenna hadn't really wanted to do cheer in the beginning but her sister made her join her. Because she thought that it would have been boring to do it by herself.
But eventually she grew to love it, just as much as her sister did. Brooke would have never admitted it, but she loved that she finally had something that she and her twin could bond over. Though it did piss her off a little that Brenna out won her for the captain position on the cheer team in sophomore year. But she did quickly get over that, for the most part.
