Wiping the sweat from his forehead Jaden flopped down onto his new couch and face planted into the cushion.
"That... took FOREVER!" He angrily said as his brother sat on the arm chair near him.
It took them at least three hours to get everything unpacked and into the house. Also, while they were unpacking they left the door open so now there was a stray cat in the house.
Duke pulled out his phone and started texting someone. "Did you find that cat yet?"
Jaden rolled over so he was on his back staring at the ceiling. "Nope."
Just then a small figure jumped onto his stomach and piercing green eyes stared into his icy blue ones. "Actually, scratch that..." Duke looked over at the orange tabby that currently sat upon his brother's stomach. He smirked. "You should keep him. He looks friendly enough, plus you'll need a buddy."
Jaden started petting the cat. In return the cat began to purr. "Awww..." Jaden noted as the cat rolled over.
His brother had an amused look on his face with one eyebrow up in the air. "I didn't know you liked cats. I thought you despised them back home."
Jaden glared at the other black haired boy, "Hey you know that cat ruined my laptop!"
Duke held up a hand, "Now, now. Why don't you go out and buy food and other things for your house? I have some work to do here so I won't be able to come." the tall boy stood up, picking up the tabby, and pushing the younger out of the house.
"B-but-!"
"No buts, now go."
As soon as Jaden was out of the house Duke slammed the door close. An audible click noise was heard signaling it was locked.
"Jerk..." Jaden grumbled under his breath as he began to walk.
Where? He has no clue.
----------------------------------------------------
After a half an hour of walking around the boy finally found the store. Turns out it wasn't that far from his house.
Stepping into the small building, he grabbed a buggy and started tossing things into the cart. After getting all his items he walked out carrying four bags. It wasn't much but enough to last him for two weeks.
Stepping back into the sunlight he started looking for a pet store. After searching some more he found it. Just as he went to walk in he was pushed out.
Landing on his back he grunted, the unexpected fall knocked the wind out of him. He looked at what hit him and saw a girl laying on ground across from him. She quickly jumped up. "Sorry Friend!" She started picking up his bags for him.
As he saw her turn around he noticed something. She had a mask on. She donned a black and grey striped hoodie, dark blue jeans, and galaxy Converse. Blond cat ears were sewed on the top of the hood and a blond cat tail sewed on the back. A silver chain connected from on of the belt loops of her jeans to something in her left pocket. Her hood was up so he couldn't exactly see her hair, however a lock of blond stuck out. from as much of her face as we could see, he concluded that she was tan. Most likely because of this blazing hot sun.
Her mask was completely white with two holes for her to see out of and a cat like mouth that looked like it smiled.
Stunned at her appearance he did say anything. She was just so odd and kinda... cute. Wait, WHAT? What is he thinking? He hasn't even seen this girls face yet!
"Uh, sir, are you okay?" He was shaken out of his thoughts by her voice.
"Oh uh, y-yes! I'm fine, sorry just lost in thought." He scratched the back of his head sheepishly.
"No worries Friend! Need any help?" She asked suggesting to the fact that he was still on the ground. She didn't look much younger than him.
"Uhhhh.. Help with what?" Jaden, completely oblivious to the fact that she meant helping him up, continued to sit there and stare.
The girl stifled a giggle as she held out her hand.
After a moment of trying to figure out what she was doing, Jaden blushed as he realized his predicament.
"O-oh uh yeah thanks!" Stuttering, he grabbed her offering hand. He brushed all the dirt off of himself.
He looked back at the masked girl to see her holding out his bags. He nodded a thanks and she simply gave him two thumbs up.
As if suddenly realizing something, the girl pulled on the chain hanging from her jean pocket. It's a silver pocket watch. She checked the time and jumped a bit. "Oh shit, I'm late! Hey friend, I'm sorry but I gotta dash. See ya around later and sorry for knocking you over!" She made a finger gun as she waved and ran off. Where to? Who the hell knows man.
Jaden, a little dazed, stood there staring at the place she had previously stood. Mumbling quietly under his breath, Jaden continued into the pet store.
"What a really strange girl."
