Calum stared at his phone waiting for it to ring.

It didn't.

It never rang.

He made sure to check his notifications just incase he somehow missed the call, but by the end of the night he realized that Luke bailed on him. Not only was Calum disappointed that Luke lied, but he was disappointed that he got his hopes up. He was really excited about the call. He had butterflies in his stomach but that feeling was dead and gone.

Maybe this was payback for ignoring the boy for a few days.

Maybe Luke just got nervous.

Maybe Calum expected too much.

Maybe he was taking things too far too fast. He was definitely taking things to fast. They've only been talking for two months, but that doesn't fix the feelings that he's feeling. There is absolutely no reason for him to be attached to Luke, yet that doesn't change anything.

The raven haired boy had no idea what was going on all he knew was that he loved talking to the kid. He loved the fact that Luke messaged him and he enjoyed the thought of someone like Luke being in his life no matter how far the distance between them was.

Luke seemed honest, and open and generally good. Luke seemed happy.

Happier than Calum at least.
