“Do you know where Jordan lives?” Sofia asked me while I was preparing for breakfast, Cross was in the living room, reading. I haven’t talked to him ever since he did that to me awhile ago.

By that, you know what I mean...

“Uhm, yeah, he lives next door...” I said knowingly as I grew up as his childhood friend.

She giggled...

I looked at her confusingly...

“Don’t tell me that he’s caught your eye?” I said, wide-eyed.

She giggled even more, so she was the romantic kind of girl, I don’t even have a hint of romance in my body, perhaps I was born that way...

“Sofia...” I opened my mouth to say something but I guess it was tactless so I kept my mouth shut once more.

“What?” she said while looking at me with a confused look.

“Nothing...” I assured her.

“Uh-huh, are you sure? You were about to say something...”

“It’s nothing, I tell you...” I said with a hint of finality.

Sofia didn’t respond, instead, she looked to Cross’s direction...

“Brother is pretty handsome right?” she said with dead air.

“Uhm, maybe, I don’t know the difference of the handsome and ugly people. For me, handsomeness and beauty is simply ugliness subdued...” I said with a live aura.

“Hmmm, don’t you like him?”

I stared at her, wide-eyed.

“Uhm, it’s a tradition that an immortal should marry an immortal, you can’t be happy with a normal person, they grow old, we don’t, they get sick, we don’t. They die out of old age, we don’t.” Sofia said while looking directly in my eyes.

“Uhm, then why did you get to like Jordan? He’s a mortal...” I pointed out.

“Uhm, I don’t really think it’s serious, more of a fling...” she said while twisting her hair.
