Draco was shaking with anger however he was calm holding her. She was to full of life, far too fragile. He could snap her like a twig if he got to rough. "We can go to the zoo when the sun rises. Dinner is at midnight."

Her head piped up at the mention. "Sunrise? But the sun doesn't it hurt you?"

He chuckled. "No it just stings a little, it is not like the myths. We do not burn to a crisp. Wolves roam in daylight, we tend to keep our distance it is better for us to remove ourselves from the others presence, the sun is just bright and agitating but not harmful, the sting does not last. It would be more accurate to say garlic kills us."

He heard her chuckle. "So it is garlic that you cannot handle."

He rolled his eyes. "Allergies."

She nodded. "What does it do?"

He looked her over and patted her head. "Leaves a vampire sick for a few days." He smiled as her head began to fill with questions. "Yes a stake to the heart would kill us, but it would kill any creature."

She nodded. "I actually thought you slept in coffins, needed sleep."

Of course it was a misconception. The myths from before the takeover still circulated around mortal population. He held her in his arm until ten. "May I explore?" She asked.

He smiled and nodded. "Go on love, keep the collar on and if a male asks you to follow yell for me or find someone else."

She nodded and stood, her clothing tight. He felt a passive growl bubble in his throat but kept it down. She would be fine.

He prayed she would be fine.

Roselyn's POV

I smiled as he allowed me to explore. I wanted to see what my new home offered, I skipped out of the room feeling his eyes bore into me as I closed the door.

The collar was slight itchy, it reminded me of who I was. What I was. A slave. I knew he had told me I was his companion, a secret lover of sorts but I still felt like one. I had to follow slave customs when his door was not shielding me from others view. When we went out a leash limited my range, their laws threatened my safety.

I was a pet, and nothing more.

I held back tears, he was being kind but I had never wanted this. I began to run my hands over the stone walls, the cool stone making my hands cold. The dark tile floors were all covered with thin wine purple carpet, the carpet had a yellow stripe running down it.

It felt soft to my toes, I would squish the fabric between them. I was not allowed shoes unless I was out of the house.

Almost ever tenth step I was met with a shield of dark armor holding a torch burning with green flames. The sat flush against the walls reminding me of where I was. A castle built for immortal rulers, a place that I would not live in forever. A mortal could not breath for millions of years like they could.

Then again they did not need to breath, or sleep, they seemed to only need meals and drink.

The sudden smell of blood filled my senses, I slowly opened the door between two armor statues. Their green glow disappearing as I opened the door, blood slaves. My hand shot to hide my groans, women and men sat in rows, bite marks covering their bodies, however these ones were dressed in brown cloth, better then the ones at my masters friend house.

I closed the door quickly making my way down another endless hallway, I hoped I would not get lost.

As I rounded a corner I saw the two young vampires running up and down the long hallway. I snickered as a handmaiden caught them, their little bodies wiggling in her grasps. "Your mother said it was time for the two of you to get some blood, come little ones."
