The two dressed in armored padding as the carriage trotted through the forest path, bumping and bouncing. "Now be warned this part of the forest has thieves and pirates."
"Pirates on land?" Her confusion was clear by the look on her soft face.
"Yes land pirates. Pillagers and rapists, men that are willing to kill to take. Rape to take." He growled softly. She nodded, he held her hand.
The two of them wore jeans, white shirt, gloves, and combat boots. The shirts were made of the skins of invincible animal hides, the only way to pierce them is with a weapon of a god. Their only bare places were their faces and arms.
Within minutes of the mention the carriage was stopped with abruptness, Roselyn lurched forward with a scream as she fell forward into the seat across from her. Draco grabbed her off the floor. "You alright?"
She nodded. "Just fine." She replied. He grinned but soon his smile faded when he heard the laughter of drunk men.
"We only want your gold." They called. "It really isn't much."
Draco rolled his eyes. "Just leave us alone."
Roselyn looked at him. "Are you crazy? That isn't going to work." He nodded understanding she was right.
He looked out the window to see four drunk men falling over one another. He filled a bag with some berries and tossed it out the window. "Go!" Draco snapped and they happily grabbed for the bag. The horses started up again when they heard yelling coming from the men they duped.
"You could have given them actual money. You have enough to go around."
"They will continue to rob like vultures if you do that. Give a dog a bone, it comes back for more."
"Ah." She said. "You're one of those people...vampires."
"What does that mean."
"You don't see the ideal of giving those with less something to hold them over."
"No, I do give to charities and poor, but they are thieves. Plus they probably already forgot about it. They were so drunk a coin could have looked like a chip in all honestly. So the berries were safer for their digestive systems."
She laughed at his response. He smiled at her, she was so different then other women.
The carriage stopped again after an hour of smooth riding. A sword was seen through the window.
"Stupid pirates..." he glared grabbing his own sword. He knew how to get around them, if he could just win a sword fight they could leave scratch free.
"Get out, and we may not hurt you." Said a gruff voice. "No weapons unless swords. Any women and I want them on their knees."
"My women will not be on her knees, but I have a sword." Draco snapped as the two walked out of the carriage. Roselyn watched with question, pirates but what species. Human kind was on the decline, they couldn't be human, she squinted when she realized they were magic wielders. "Come on, this is the second time we have been stopped, just leave."
Warlocks turned to pirating.
"I said I want the women on her knees. Less distraction for my men." The caption said with a glare. His eyes were green and he had ginger hair as well as a long beard. They all wore cloaks, long black robes, and hates with various feathers or gems hanging from them. He pointed his sword at her and Draco glared.
"No." Draco replied back. "She stands, now you can allow us passage or I can kill you and your men draining them of their blood within seconds if you wish." His sharp features grew tight in anger as he watched them. He held the sword tightly standing in front of her. "So what will it be?"
