Changes (Taylor Caniff) Chapter 3
June 20th
Taylor Caniff's Point Of View
"Hey Kelli, when dad, Tristan, and Jordan get back, what are we gonna tell them?" I asked. "Well, I'm not sure about how Kevin will take it, Kellie and Jordan probably won't really say anything, and Tristan would love having a niece." She replied.
"Where is she gonna sleep?" I asked. "So, you are thinking about keeping her?" Her eyebrows furrowed. "In the note Luca's mom wrote, she said that she despised Luca, and that she would kill her if she didn't give Luca to me. I can't just leave my daughter after her mom said that. It just isn't morally right." I looked down at Luca. "But, you know changes are going to have to happen, because I know you weren't going to Jake's."
We had gone out and gotten a couple baby things, that was before Kelli and I had a long conversion.
I got on group chat that had most everybody on it.
If somebody could call me, that would be great...
Less than a minute later, Mahogany was calling me.
"Hey Taylor, what's wrong?" She asked. "I have a kid." I stated.
"Oh... Oh. Oh. So like, what now?" I handed Luca another one of Tristan's trains to play with. "I guess it's all on me now, her mom just left her on my doorstep."
"You'll figure it out, Tay. The best thing I can tell you is to screw your head on straight and be an amazing father." She said. "So, what's her name?" Mahogany chirped. "Luca Faye Caniff." I smiled. "Aw. Luca! That's adorable!" Mahogany cooed. "I'm ending this call right now and you better send me a picture."
She hung up on me and I went to my camera.
"Luca, look here." I called, she turned her head and I made funny faces, hoping to get her to smile. Right as she smiled, I snapped the picture. I pulled her next to me and cooed to her, right as I saw her smile, I smiled and snapped the picture. After taking about five more, I chose out two to send: one of Luca alone then one of her and I.
I sent them in the group chat, adding the words:
Meet Luca Faye Caniff, my daughter.
Then, I sucked it up and put it on social media.
I sighed, putting my iPhone on the charger. I changed Luca's diaper, which is something I probably won't ever get used to.
I kissed Luca's forehead and put her in her playard.
