Camila watched the empty street. Every few minutes her eyes closed from exhaustion. But she could not sleep because of the cold. She shuddered and wrapped her arms around herself to protect herself from the cold. She was shivering.
She was ready to return to the warehouse when she heard a cry that made her heart stop.
"Help me!".
Camila turned her head to the street and looked around shocked. She did not see anyone. But where did this voice come from? Someone was asking for help. Camila could not just ignore it. Maybe she had lost too much, but she hadn't lost her humanity yet.
She tried to hear something, but there was nothing. Instead of voices, the sound of footspeps was heard. And quick breaths.
They came from the strait across the road. Camila did not lose any other second. While embracing herself, she ran to the other side of the road and turned to the strait. She stopped abruptly as she saw clearly where the sounds came from.
In front of her, there were three men. There was a girl trapped between them. Camila could not see the girl's face, but she soon realized who the three guys were.
"Alan stop," she spoke loudly, approaching them.
The men stopped and turned to face Camila. The girl among them was terrified and probably too shocked to say a word."Didn't I tell you that this is bad?" Camila asked urgently, tightening her lips. She had talked many times with these men before and she knew them.
"Yeah ..." one of them said, the one that Camila remembered was Liam.
"I told you, that's not right, you can not hurt people, and especially her. She's...a friend of mine. " Camila continued, without looking at the surprised girl who was still standing among the guys.
"Friend of yours?" asked Alan, the one Camila knew best.
"Yes, but even if she wasn't my friend, that does not give you the right to approach her in a bad way. It's not right to hurt other people. "
They all stared at her without talking.
"Let her go, now." Camila said to Alan, pointing to the girl.
"But ..."
"I've told you before, it's not good, only bad people hurt other people. Are you a bad person?" Camila asked, lifting her eyebrow.
Alan hesitated, but finally let the girl's hand free. She pulled away, rubbing her aching hand.
"Okay?" Liam asked.
Camila smiled at him. "Much better".
The boys left, disappointed for missing the chance to have some fun, leaving the two girls alone in the strait. Camila finally looked at the girl she had just saved.
Then she stood shocked.
The first thing Camila noticed about the girl was her eyes. It was impossible not to look at her eyes. They seemed green, but not the ordinary, plain green. They had a peculiarity that made them look like the color of the ocean.
The moon was mirrored in the girl's eyes, and Camila stood still in her position, carefully studying the glow within them. Only one word could described them: magic.
But she soon discharged her gaze from the girl's eyes and observed the rest of her face. Her brows, nose and lips. They were all wonderful, just like her eyes. Camila looked at the girl's body. It was also perfect. She could not find any defect on the girl she had just saved. But how was that possible?
Camila forced herself to concentrate and decided to talk to the terrified girl.
"Don't worry," she reassured her by approaching her slowly. "You're safe now, they're gone, they're not going to hurt you."
