"ONE!" I screamed, the sound of feet clambering over each other made me giggle, my hands clamped fairly tight over my eyes.
"TWO!" I continued giggling and counting, within seconds of stampede-worthy noises everything was silent aside from my breathing and the buzz the fridge gave off.
"Three, four, five.." I mumbled to myself, waiting until I got to twenty to yell out.
"Ready or not, here I come guys" I half-yelled, half-spoke. I uncovered my eyes and leant back off the kitchen bench, a subtle breath ran down my neck and a murmur made me jump.
"Found me"
I shrieked and spun around, roughly whacking my assailant's arm. Zayn laughed manically as he rubbed his arm from where I hit it.
"Jesus, Zayn!" I shook my head and chuckled with him, flicking his cheek before pulling him into a small hug.
"Sorry, babe" he cooed playfully,
still smirking.
"Why didn't you hide?" I raised an eyebrow at him, leaning my back against the bench.
"I wanted to talk and see if everything was okay with you and Harry?" he shrugged, smiling sweetly. I felt so happy after hearing his concern.
"Yes, we're fine. Thank you so much for the other night, again" I smiled up at him before stepping forward and leaning up to kiss his cheek.
"Don't thank me, you obviously mean a lot to Harry, he cares for you and in turn we all will. You're a nice girl, Jaycee" he smiled reassuringly, I felt a small warmth spread through me. These boys were looking out for me like their own friend, which I guess they now were. My friends.
I smiled, gesturing for Zayn as he followed me, making our way out the door connected to the kitchen to the garage, flicking the light switch on beside me as the familiar musky smell hit me.
"Hey! You guys have a ping pong table?" Zayn commented with a low whistle. I nodded, eyeing the separated table up against the wall.
Zayn raised his eyebrow at me as to ask 'why are we in here?', to which I smiled knowingly, trailing over to the cupboard at the far end of the room.
I stood to one side of it and reached my hand to the handle, pulling it out towards me. A whirl of blonde and clothes stumbled onto the concrete floor, laughing and blushing as mops and buckets and various other items fell down beside him.
"Hi!" I cheered cockily, nudging his side with my foot, "Can you pick up all that? Thanks, babe"
I winked and sauntered out, Zayn following me again with an incredulous expression. We walked up the hall, stopping in front of the doors of mine and Harry's rooms.
"Mine and Gem's room, under the beds and in the cupboards. And no one would hide there, but behind the shower curtains" I smirked, my intelligence was truly overwhelming. Zayn nodded and walked into my room, where he had been staying, as I walked into Harry's parents room.
Harry and I were always the best at hide and seek, it was truly unfair that we were playing it with amateurs in the house because Harry and I spent years staking out the best hiding spots, but it was fun either way.
No one was in there nor Harry's room, but I figured I'd been proven right when Liam sulked out of Gemma's room followed by a very proud looking Zayn.
"Under the bed?" I smirked.
"Under the bed" Liam and Zayn confirmed, Liam feigned disappointment and wiped away a tear, Zayn with an accomplished grin.
