A/N Hello everyone! You may know me from some of my other books. I decided to write Inanimate Insanity because why not? Anyways, enjoy!
Smilodon's POV:
The warm summer breeze rustled my fur as I lay sunning myself on the open grasslands, away from Hotel O.J, the objects and trouble. I've never known a life quite like this; Peaceful, easy, and quite. Although they did often have parties at the hotel, I was far enough away I couldn't hear them. Them being the objects, of course. They're the most common life forms I hear and see- after birds and insects, of course.
Large mammals are very rare here- I've only seen deer 2-3 times in my entire life, and each time only in a herd of 3-4.
I'm also quite likely to be the only mammal predator here, because I've never seen another, much less one of my own kind.
I may act like I hate objects, but the truth is that I've learned most of what I know, including my ability to speak they're language- from hiding and listening to them in secret. Perhaps by skill or luck I've always managed to avoid being seen by them, thus they're completely unaware of my existence.
Despite being born to be a strict carnivore, I've adapted much more of an omnivore lifestyle. As I mentioned before, they're aren't many large mammals here, so I need to get creative to get enough food. That includes, if i'm hungry enough, stealing from the garbage bins. Yes, I sometimes steal from the garbage bins. They sometimes throw away good food, you know.
As I continue to relax, the sun gleaming off my saber-teeth, I hear a unknown noise coming from the distance. At first I ignore it, thinking it was nothing. But soon the noise got closer and louder. It sounded like one of my roars, only deeper, and louder. I look to the sky, and see a large white object passing by overhead; I've never seen this kind of thing before, yet I don't feel any fear. How is something that large flying? Is it a threat? I suddenly have so many questions, but no answers. Soon the large, strange and loud object was fading into the distance, towards the center of the island, and the hotel. I stand up to follow carefully, my curiosity driving me to learn more, but I knew this: It probably wasn't good.
And that was the prologue. Make sure to comment your thoughts and vote!
