Smilodon's POV.
I'm not certain how I'm alive. It must be pure luck, as my paw is now badly infected and my limp has only gotten worse.
I'm hiding in some thick bushes next to a tree, and just outside the forest is a soda machine. I'm not looking to watch the objects right now, just waiting until night so I can hopefully scavenge something.
I suddenly heard a loud crash and saw something black fly from the ground nearby the soda machine, causing me to fall back in fear I landed on my back, wincing in pain from moving my injured paw so fast. Ok, I have no idea what that was, but I'm not sticking around to find out.
I roll myself to back onto my 3 good feet and start limping towards thicker oak forest, but to get there I'll have to go past some thin forest nearby the elimination area.
By the time I get there, however, the elimination has already started, but I can just wait it out. I duck behind some bushes to wait it out before I see the what I figure to be the black thing from earlier. It kind of looks like Yin Yang but has no white on it. Wait, did they separate somehow? I peek over the bush to the elimination area, and sure enough, there is what seems to be the missing half.
My mind was instantly racing with questions. How does that happen? Isn't the black half, Yang I believe, evil? Hasn't anyone noticed? Man, objects certainly are strange, and I don't think I'll ever understand them.
Unfortunately, I wasn't paying attention until something crashed into me, knocking me onto my side. I snarled and swatted at my attacker with my good front paw. I realized my attacker was yang, unsurprisingly. Quickly I leapt to my 3 good feet, while barely dodging a rock he threw at me. Normally, I would run as fast as I could, however it's kind of hard to run with only 3 good legs.
As I narrowly miss getting punched in the face, I grab his right arm in my jaws and throw him as far away as I can. He ends up knocking Cherries, which I presume is the eliminated contestant, into the portal. I can't make out what he says to Yin before he runs off laughing evilly. Typical. I wonder why he didn't come back over here after I threw him though.
Once the elimination was over I continued limping to the oak forest.
(Time skip)
The sun is setting now, and I've managed to limp further than I thought I would. Not sure if I'm over show borders, not that I go past them a lot anyway, as my largest food sources are within show parameters.
Something feels strange about this area though. The sky is darker than usual, despite the sun setting it still feels weird. The grass seems darker in coloration aswell.
Maybe I should go back. Something about this place is giving me chills. I look up from the ground, ready to turn around when I notice... a house?
Even though I've never seen this area before, I can't help but wonder why there is a house out here. It doesn't seem to be in the best condition; some of the wood is clearly rotting. A few of the windows are cracked or broken.
I mean, it does seem abandoned, and I could really use a safer place to sleep and live, especially with an injured paw. You have no idea of the nerves you get when you have no idea what else could be out there.
I limp closer, holding my injured limb off the ground, until I find myself at what seems to be a door.
A/N I'm kind of hitting a writers block for this book right now... oof. Anyways, thank you for 100 reads! Please vote and comment!
