Chapter 1

Ariel Morgan's POV.

Tomorrow is my 16th birthday I feel like something good with a bad is going to happen. I mean its a weird feeling. I live with my grandparents. My parents died when I was born, at least that's what my grandparents told me. I also have an secret that only me and my grandparents know, I strongly believe in magic. I never told anyone because I'm sure they'll laugh at me for not being my age. I honestly have nothing to worry about because I have no friends. Yeah I'm a lonely person meaning I don't communicate much. But maybe one day I'll make a friend who knows right? Ha ha ha...
"Ariel! Time for school!" I heard my grandma yelled from the kitchen as usual.
"Coming grandma." I got up and walked down to eat breakfast with my grandparents.
"Morning sunshine. Tomorrow is your sweet 16. The day you..." My granddad Henry was cut off by my grandma Bella.
"Finally makes some new friends." My grandma Bella laughed nervously and then my granddad.
"It's true." He laughed nervously.
"Okay.....then. I'm gonna be late for school. Bye, love you." I said and kissed them both on the cheeks.
"Okay Ariel have fun, be safe. Do you want us to.." I cut off my grandma.
"No thanks I'll be fine on my own." I said. She was going to ask me what she usually ask me every morning, 'Do you want us to drop you to school?' Geez we live in San Francisco. My school is only 2 blocks away. Not that far.
I've left my home and was on my way to school.

Mia Johnson's POV.

Beep!..beep!..beep!..

I was awoken by my stupid alarm clock. I got up and turned off the alarm and went back to sleep.
"Mia darling time to get up!" My grandma Tia yelled from the kitchen as usual.
"Be there in 20!" I yelled back.
"Okay be quick school starts in half hour!" My granddad Harry yelled.
"Okay Grandpa!" I replied. My parents died when I was born. At least that's what my grandparents told me. I quickly got up and got ready.

A while later.

I got ready and went down.
"Good morning starshine." My grandma said as I sat down to have breakfast with them.
"Good morning." I said. Tomorrow I'll be turning 16. My sweet 16. Too bad I don't have anyone to invite I mean I don't have friends. I live in San Francisco. I even have a secret that only me and my grandparents know and that is that I believe in magic. I knew it's not right for my age but I just believe.
"So you excited about tomorrow? You should be its when you..." My grandpa Harry was cut off by grandma Tia.
"You should make some friends." My grandma and grandpa laughed nervously.
"Okay then I'm going to school. I'm already 5 minutes late." I said annoyed a bit.
I got up and kissed both my grandparents on their cheeks.
"Bye, see you later." I said.
"Bye have fun.. I'm not even gonna ask. But still do you want us..." I cut off grandma.
"No I'm fine. It's only 2 blocks away." I said.
"Okay be safe." They said. I blow them a kiss and left.
I signed. Then I accidentally bumped into someone. Her books fell to the ground and so did mines.
"I am so sorry. I didn't see where I was going." The blonde haired girl said looking scared just as much as I am. She was fair and had long straight hair. She was a normal size person. Not fat, not thin but normal like she works out a lot.
"Its okay it's my fault. I should have watch where I was going." I said. I stood up and she handed me my book and I handed her hers.
"Thanks." We said in unison and we both then laughed.
"So you read fairytales?" I asked.
"Yeah I uhmmm... believe...I mean I like reading them." She said.
"It's okay if you believe in them. I'll tell you a secret I do to." I said out of no where. Why did I tell her that?
"You do? Well seems like we have that in common." She said. I laugh.
"Well its nice meeting you..." I didn't get her name.
"Ariel." She said.
"I love that name. My name is Mia." We then shook hands.
"I better get going I'm already 10 minutes late." She said.
"Me too." I said.
"Which way you're heading?" I asked.
"Stanford Academy College." She said.
"Hey I go there too." I said.
"Really. Well wanna walk together?" She asked.
"Sure." I said and we walked to school.
"So how come I haven't seen you around in school?" I asked.
"Uhmmm..I more to myself. I don't have..you know..friends so I just go in the library and stay in a corner and read my fairytales book." She said.
"Me too. I don't have any friends I just keep to myself and find a corner to sit in the library and also read my fairytales book. I don't care what anyone says." I said.
"I know right." She said.
After a few more minutes of talking about fairytales and magic eventually came up we've arrived at school.

Ariel Morgan's POV.

Mia is really sweet. I've finally made my first friend. She also made her first  friend, me. Mia has long straight black hair, fair complexion just like me, not thin or fat just normal size like me.
During lunch we met again and went to the library and read our books.
"You wanna exchange books?" I asked.
"Sure." Mia replied.
We spent the rest of the lunch reading and talking more about ourselves to each other.
After school we've decided to walk home together..
"So your parents died when you born?" I asked her.
"Yeah, well at least it's what my grandparents told me. How about your parents?" She asked.
"My story is similar to yours. They died when I was born it's what my grandparents told me." I said.
"Wow I never knew that their was someone so close to me and actually have a similar story to mines." Mia said.
"So did I." I told her.
"Say tomorrow is my sweet 16 would you like to come? I don't really have anyone else other than you to invite." She asked me.
"Wait tomorrow is your sweet 16. Wow, it's also my sweet 16. I was about to ask you the same thing. I have no one other than you to invite." I said. She was shocked a bit. Can't blame her. It's not everyday you hear similar life stories to yours and have the same sweet 16 on the same day of your new friends.
"Oh well maybe you can come across by me and I can come later by you." She suggested.
"Sure...or you can come by me first then I come by you?" I asked.
"Sure anything. Well can I see your phone?" I handed her my phone and she put her number on it and I took hers and put my number on it.
"I'll text you later." I said jokingly.
"Yeah. Well see you tomorrow." She  said and I waved her goodbye. We then left in our separate ways.
