Yanking my coat off the rack, I dashed out my apartment door. Leaving my half-completed chemistry homework and untouched pizza bagels behind.
OH MY GOSH! How am I so careless and irresponsible? Where is my lil kitty?
While my mind races, my body is racing as well. I stop abruptly at a small alley, where I see a familiar brown floof of hair. The brown-haired boy was wrestling with something in his arms. With his back faced towards me, I couldn't tell what he looked like, but he was definitely mumbling something like
"Ony park moednt have oo deal with this".Okay, maybe my hearing isn't the best...
I cleared my throat loud enough for him to acknowledge my presence. Startled, the frantic teen turned to me. I recognized him on the spot.
PETER PARKER! The cute nerd in my chemistry class that I'm slowly falling in love with!... wait what
I've known him for some time, we both had group projects with each other before. Michelle also hangs out with him and Ned. We are kind of close, but we haven't talked much lately. I normally admire him from the distance and such.
My eyes drew away from his (incredibly hot) face, and focused on what was in his arms. "You found my cat!" I exclaimed, dashing towards Peter. I plucked the squirming kitten out of his arms, while repeatedly expressing my gratitude.
"It's no problem," he said while rubbing the nape of his neck "Thank goodness you found it though cause I kind of hate cats."
I abruptly whipped my head up to see whether boy was joking. "You've got to be kitten me!" I held the kitten up and peppered him with kisses. "They are so cute and cuddly! How could you hate them?!"
Peter shrugged his shoulders, mumbled something about bad experiences, and tried to divert the conversation in a different direction. "So what's this kitten's name?"
I nodded and held the kitten up in the air "This is Spiderling!" Peter's eyes lit up in curiosity and asked the reason behind the name. I would never admit the small crush I had on the masked hero (or Peter), so I gave a blatant answer that I heard Iron Man call him that a couple of times and that it was a personal way I wanted to recognize all that Spider-Man did for Queens.
Peter's cheeks became a light shade of pink, then checked to see whether his backpack was zipped up. We made our way out of the alley and to our homes, while making some small talk.
"So did you understand the lesson in chemistry today?" Peter asked while looking at the street ahead. Embarrassed, I shook my head "I didn't understand some parts so half of my homework is still incomplete."
The topic of school continues to go on, then Peter mentions having some trouble with a subject I am much stronger in. My lips press together in thought, while stroking the kitten's head, formulating an idea. "How about I make a deal with you, Parker. You can tutor me in Chemistry and I can tutor you for that class!"
Peter strongly agrees with the joint tutoring sessions, and we continue to make plans for our study date-I mean session. We both arrive to a street where the paths to our homes separate. Me and Peter exchanged our numbers and goodbyes. I happily walk down the road leading to my apartment when a masked superhero swings by.
"A young lady like you shouldn't be roaming around while it's unsafe" Spider-Man says in a lighthearted tone. He swung down and landed right beside me. I held Spiderling closer to my chest trying to calm myself down.
Oh my gosh, oh my gosh it's Spider-Man! I'm such a bundle of nerves, but can you blame me? IT'S SPIDER-MAN!
I took a deep breath and released my hidden tension. "Well it's not that dark, but I could use the company..." I mentally fist-bumped myself for being so smooth. To start a conversation, he asks my name while ruffling the kitten's head.
"Oh I'm (Y/n)!" We continue to stroll down the lane "(Y/n).... cute," I immediately feel my face become warm and tried to fan myself subtly. "What's the name of this little guy?" Spider-Man said while pointing to my kitten.Oh my gosh what do I say "Oh hey yea this is my cat, Spiderling, I named him after you while overhearing a conversation with Iron man. Yep, I love you and I'm a stalker!
We reached my apartment complex and my shoulders relax. "Well that's a story for another time, bye!" I stammer. I run inside with the kitten in my arms. Before I close the door,
I give a small thanks and a wave. Spider-Man returns the wave and swings away. I drag my tired body up the stairs to my apartment. I'm welcomed to the smell of my now cold pizza bagels and unfinished homework. I make my way to my room and drop myself onto the bed, with the kitten nuzzling my side.Today was a good day... embarrassing, but good...
I slowly drift off to sleep, dreaming of a brown floof of hair, a certain masked hero, a kitten, and my unfinished homework.
