THE RIDE TO THE PICNIC SIDE WAS OVERALL QUIET AND PEACEFUL.

"it's been a long while since we came." younghoon said as he got off the car, looking around.

the scenery was beautiful as usual, everything being the same as how it was engraved in his memories. the wind, too, was as calming and as cooling as how he remembered.

"correction, it's only you. we all went here a month ago except for you." younghwi stated dryly, already beginning to help his dad unload the car.

"exactly, son," his father, mr kim agreed along. with a huge noise, he took a very heavy picnic basket from the car and handed it to his wife.

"hmm... how long has it been? a year or two? you don't really join us to picnics." mrs kim said, somehow able to carry that heavy picnic basket which even younghoon was unsure of being able to handle it. "it started around highschool i think, you rarely join us after turning 16."

"i do?" younghoon questioned, raising a brow.

"you always say that you're busy and have stuffs to deal with when we invite you." younghwi took a glance at his brother, "i thought i might face the same after i enter highschool but no, i ain't busy at all."

"you're just dumb younghwi, that's why you're not as busy as your brother." mr kim said, patting his younger son's shoulder in a dramatical way.

"hey! am i even your son?" younghwi pouted, giving his father a few 'unhappy' looks.

"i'm just joking!"

while his family joked around, younghoon began to recall.

all the memories in his mind came flowing back, reminding how busy he was and distanced from his family due to the school's activities and works. it's either that he had stuffs to do at school or home, or he was simply too tired and wanted to rest as quickly as he can.

as one of the popular ones in school plus a part of the good-looking squad, he was always casted by the school's drama club for some occasional plays, the basketball team as a training buddy, the arts club as a model, and as one the ones in charge of the class' brainman whenever the school's anniversary celebration came by the corner.

younghoon had always been a kind person and never rejected when people asked for help— as long as he found the requests not bad or against the rules.

aside from all those things he didn't sign up for, he still had something he joined voluntarily. he engaged himself with the dance club, the music club, and the baseball team ever since he was a freshman in highschool. occasionally, he would show up at the literature club and astronomy club, too.

"enough talking, let's get a spot before it starts to crowd."
