"YO YOUNGHOON. WHAT'S WITH THOSE DARK CIRCLES? IT'S BEEN TWO DAYS."
younghwi asked with slight concern, swinging his bag over his shoulder as he caught up with his older brother.
younghoon only sent his concerned brother a glance, looking back on the road afterwards. "i don't know."
"eh, there must be a problem. you've always been sleeping well so it's rare to see you having dark circles."
"i said, i don't know." younghoon sighed, remembering how he hadn't been sleeping much over the past two days. he knew the reason, but he didn't want to tell younghwi. knowing his brother, he would probably use it to tease himself if he knew, even though he's younger. that's the least younghoon would want to happen... just thinking about it gives me headache.
"why are you frowning? is it because you didn't sleep well?" younghwi laughed, wrapping an arm around his sibling. they're around the same height so it's an easy thing to do, although younghoon had always been well known for his towering height (and good looks).
younghoon remained silent, too tired to give any response.
"you should sleep in class, get some rest 'cause mom wouldn't want you falling sick... hey! wait for me!"
far away, younghoon was seen sprinting towards the school leaving his brother behind, the latter yelling at him while catching up.
seeing his brother ignoring him, younghwi inhaled deeply as he pulled out his card.
"you wanna get circled by girls and get late to class?" he shouted towards the tall figure in front.
younghoon, as the popular guy and prince of the school, had always been in the centre of attention. since he participated in a lot of events, his exposure to the others in the school was extremely high, too. naturally, there would be girls crushing on him and definitely a few admirers. many people envy him for that. popularity, who wouldn't want it?
however, the poor teenager, on the other hand, felt troubled whenever he got circled by girls. since he was educated to be a gentleman, he really couldn't just ignore them and walk past away. he would always end up giving small smiles to the young ladies and endure them until they eventually leave. after that, he would feel even more tired.
that's why younghoon always took his brother around whenever he had the chance to. or maybe when younghwi was nearby him. when they're together, less people would approach him or try to build a relationship with him, not wanting to bother the siblings' talk. he would use younghwi as a shield and his brother would happily and willingly take over the conversation whenever someone initiated one, instead of having his older brother talk.
younghwi had always been a more cheerful and outgoing person rather than younghoon.
and at many times, younghoon was thankful to have his brother by his side.
a loud laugh filled the air afterwards after younghwi saw his brother obviously slowing down and stopping to wait for him.
he grinned widely and ran forwards.
younghoon sent him a look right when he got closer, "quick, we're running late." grabbing his brother by the wrist, younghoon began his final sprint to that huge building a distance away, the brother behind following his speed without much problem thanks to his athletic body.
younghwi laughed the entire journey to school and into his class- then his expression suddenly changed when he realized something. dramatically turning around, he yelled at his brother:
"hey, you haven't tell me what gave you those eye circles!"
