Raven was sitting alone at a restaurant which had just opened up opposite her workplace.

Her thoughts had wandered to Dillan a while ago as they usually did when she wasn't distracted by her heavy workload.

Her boss, Kayden Williams,CEO of MelCorp, had given her the day off in spite of her protests. She hadn't wanted to return home so she'd decided to try out the new restaurants her coworkers were so in love with.

If anyone asked her what she had ordered she wouldn't be able to give a response and that was depressing. She sighed before asking a passing waiter for her bill. She quickly paid for her barely touched meal, adding a generous tip for taking over one of their tables for over two hours, and walked out of the restaurant.

Her royal blue Benz was still parked in its in MelCorp's parking lot. She was surprised to see that Kayden's Lamborghini was not parked beside her car, overshadowing it as usual. He had probably left after forcing her out of the office.

She climbed into the car and placed her bag in the backseat. After a few moments she decided to go home. She knew Dillan would be home as he had only one class in the morning on Fridays but she couldn't bring herself to go anywhere else when there was an opportunity to be around him. Nothing good could come out of it but she couldn't help herself.

She drove for about an hour before she arrived in her neighbourhood. All the houses along this street were identical. White two-storey houses with manicured lawns and attached garages. She had lived here for about three years but she still could not tell the houses apart. She had to peer at the front door of each house to see the house number.

She finally arrived at her house. She parked her car in the courage and hurried inside. If she had know what she would find inside, she would not have been in such a hurry.

Her first stop was to the living room to drop her keys and that's where she found them.

Dillan and Rachel on the couch with his tongue down her throat.

Numb.

That's how she felt.

Her bag dropped to the floor with a thud. They turned to look at the intruder.

Rachel gasped.

Dillan let out a groan.

And Raven.....

Raven ran.

Even as Dillan shouted her name and asked her to stop.

She ran to her car and sped off to the only place she could think of.

***

Kayden was with a one night stand in his kitchen when the front door was slammed open. He had locked the door so it could only be his PA Raven, who had a key to his apartment.

"We'll continue this another time," he told the redhead who was wrapped around his waist.

"But babyyyy,"

"Get the f*** out of my house before I throw you out."

She grabbed her purse and her heels and angrily stalked out of the apartment.

Neither of them wanted a next time to take place.

Raven had entered the apartment after the redhead left and she was standing by the door when Kayden appeared. He only had to take one look at her to know that something was wrong.
Her violet eyes were empty, devoid of all emotions. Her hands were visibly shaking and her breathing was laboured and uneven.

He walked briskly to her and pulled her to his chest, hugging her tightly.

The moment he hugged her the dam that had been holding back her emotions broke.

Anger. He had brought another woman into their home.

Jealousy. He hadn't kissed her in two years.

Desperation. She didn't want to lose him.

Hopelessness. She knew she'd already lost him.

She couldn't control the sobs forced their out of her. Nor the tears that soaked her boss's T-shirt. Her fisted hand hit his chest over and over again as she begged him to help her.

"I need him, Kay. I can't live without him and I don't want to. Please help me. Help me get him back. Rachel can't have him. He's mine and I'm his. You know that, right. So tell him. Don't let me lose him, Kay."

Kayden didn't know what to tell her. It broke his heart to see her like this and his hands itched to punch the s*** out of Dillan's ugly face. But this wasn't the time for that so instead ,he just hugged her tighter and stroked her short black hair.

Eventually, her sobs reduced to tiny sniffles and she pulled away from him.

"Ice cream and Harry Potter?"

She nodded. He led her to the couch and went for two tubs of ice cream from the kitchen and a blanket. She had settled on the couch while he was away and after setting up the first Harry Potter movie, he joined her.

They made their usual interjections and comments as the movie went on and Raven felt a little better at the end of the movie. She'd lost almost all her friends and family when things with Dillan turned rocky. She was an orphan and had lived in an orphanage till she left for college. Dillan had been her best friend since childhood and his family had taken her in. His friends became hers as they were joined at the hip. They'd all deserted her though. Even his parents who used to treat her as their own daughter.

Now, all she had was Kayden and she wouldn't give him up for anything.

They were on the fourth movie when she fell asleep. He lifted her into his arms and carried her to his bedroom . He tried to deposit her onto his king sized bed but she opened sleepy eyes and held on tight.

"Please stay."

He hadn't refused her anything since he'd met her and he wasn't about to start now. He gently laid on the bed with Raven still in his arms and he waited for her breathing to even out and for the sound of her soft snores before closing his eyes.
