Jays POV

My Love - Sia
————————————————

The nightmares still haunted me, squeezing my darkest fears out of my pores as I slept, killing me on the inside. Four years of being locked up had taken a toll on me, like a wound that would never heal.

Ceces nightmares had stopped, she was as happy and strong as ever, barely three weeks in, and the kingdom had never been more content with a leader. The mourning of our lost had finished, and the celebrations had begun.

But deep down, I'd never stopped mourning. And I never would.

I shouldn't have been alive, I shouldn't have been here. Alek has sacrificed her life for mine, but what was the point when the life she saved was already broken?

I pull myself out of my bed, groaning as I know I'll need to hide my pain another day. I knew I was being selfish, but I had a right to be selfish. The only reason I fought to put myself out of my own misery was my people.

They needed me.

Soarsa needed me.

I turn to my beside drawer and put on my sisters emerald green ring, lightly running my fingers over it a few times before I start to get ready. The crack of dawn appearing through the stained windows.

I had been desperate to go out and allow my wolf a run, staying inside and dealing with matters had been hard. The grey coated creep that hurt Saorsa was still on the loose, and both Cece and I were desperate to catch Catori's right hand man.

Cece wanted to bring him in to be trialled, to lock him up until he decided being evil was stupid. But that wasn't how the world worked, if I managed to get near him, they wouldn't be anything left. His blood would flow into the river, where he would be forgotten.

Old. Unloved. Donefor.

Never in my life had I felt so weak, even while I was still so strong.I felt like a drowning fish, when I was where I should've been my strongest, I was weak.

As I made my way to the mirror, I stared at my run-down expression, as I plastered a fake look on my face before walking out the door.

"The Batail wolves demand their pack member back! She does not belong here nor is she welcome!" One of the elders shouts to Cece and Hunter, who sit together around the round table. She sits to my left, as Hunter sits to hers.

"Over my dead body will be hand her over without assurance that she won't be violated!" Cece screams at them as she stands up, slapping her hands onto the table.

"That is not your decision to make!" Another elder shouts, running his hands through his white hair. "The Batail Wolves are forbidden here! They are a threat to our way of living, their alpha has destroyed towns to get what he wants!" He shouts, "and unless you want another damn massacre, then I suggest you give them back their property your Majesty." He spits, shaking his head as he sits back.

Cece glares at him, standing tall as she instantly calms herself, knowing that she is more powerful than all of them combined.

Hunter smirks as he sits back in his chair, arms crossed as he raises an eyebrow.

Cocky asshole.

Cece laughs for a split second, and I worry her mental state is in the same position as mine. "Saorsa, is not someone's property."Her voice is low, her authority and position showing over them.
