four : karma hanade

no ones POV

as the sight of the academy grew closer Rei began to get more worried. What if people laughed at her, teased her, humiliated her, bullied her? Naruto has clearly noticed her anxiousness and put his hand on her shoulder as they reached the door to the academy entrance.

"It'll be okay Rei-chan" he smiled

'Maybe for you' the young girl thought in her head as she sighed.

The twins both walked through the door and got the name of their classroom as naruto sped ahead and Rei purposely walked slowly. Naruto knocked on the door and it opened a man with medium length spiky brown hair tied up with his forehead protector proudly visible and a scar ran along his nose. looking at his posture he looked like a kind and friendly man but Rei was still anxious, but hey better late than never right ??

They were about 10 minutes late and it was embarrassing for Rei but Naruto didn't seem to care at all.

"please come in" the man smiled

naruto ran in the classroom and Rei slowly trailed behind, she could feel all eyes on her and her older brother.

the man smiled towards the two and said
"my name is iruka umino but you can call me iruka sensei" and they both nodded, naruto was visibly more energetic though

"please sit anywhere" he gently spoke

Rei's PoV

I scanned the classroom and a few people stood out to me who I'd met before

pineapple-head (shikamaru) bubblegum (Sakura), ino, dogboy (kiba), food boy (choji), duckbutt (sasuke).

I scanned the classroom and looked for other people but I couldn't think of anyone else I knew. There were a few interesting people though I wanted to get to know for example there was a girl with dark purple/blue hair and lavender eyes.

I checked where my brother sat and sat down next to him. I was currently in a sandwich between sasuke and my brother.

I waved at Sasuke and he waved back still with the face emotion on his face. He showed may more emotion yesterday...? Whatever, maybe he doesn't like opening up to people.

Slowly Iruka-sensei started pointing at kids in rows asking them for their names and then it finally came to my row

"Sasuke Uchiha"
"Rei Uzumaki"
"Naruto Uzumaki, Believe it!!"
"H-Hinata Hyuga"

sooo, the girl from earliers name was Hinata, I looked at her and waved and she smiled back anxiously. Does she think I'm a monster too?

I felt glaring behind my head and slowly turned around to see sakura-chan and ino-chan glaring into my soul, oh goodie! I awkwardly smiled back and turned to the front of the classroom and saw that we were going to be training and doing little matches between the classroom these were the matches written on the board.

Sakura vs Ino
Naruto vs Sasuke
Shino vs Shikamaru
Choji vs Kiba
Rei vs Karma Hanade

so, not everyone was fighting intersetimg. I was the last match so I could relax for a bit. Not that I really watched Sakura and Ino's match but they basically just pulled each others hair and tried to trip up each other but it ended in a draw.

Next was Naruto and Sasuke and... Sasuke won and you could hear the occasional "Sasuke-Kun!" From all his fangirls - quite annoying if you ask me!

With Shino and Shikamaru Shino won because Shikamaru gave up saying its just a drag.

With Choji and Kiba I think Kiba won but like I was not really paying attention to be honest.

Next I heard Iruka-sensei yell
"Last match Rei vs Karma"
I looked up and saw a quite tall compared to me girl with red eyes and long red hair.

In the distance I could hear Sakura-chan yell

"Oh look the two red-heads! I bet Karma-chan will win Rei doesn't stand a chance!"

This just made me annoyed because to be fair Ino should've won the match but she was kinda being nice because Sakura was very hurt.

"3... 2.... 1... go!" Iruka sensei yelled.

I knew I was capable of high level jutsus but I wasn't gonna use them here because I hate being the center of attention. So I'll stick to genin-ish level.

Karma came at me with a taijutsu kick, so we're doing taijutsu. I quickly jumped out the way before it landed on me, I watched as she fell forwards about to fall onto the floor. Kindness got the best of me and I ran to catch her but when I arrived there i couldn't see her and then I felt a kunai at my next. That wasn't fair...

"Match over.. Karma Wins!" I sighed in defeat and looked away as karma held her hand out but I just ignored it and got up on my own and went over to naruto.

I could hear Ino and Sakura yelling mean things at me such as

"Weak! Looser! You're pathetic!"

the issue is I let words get to me and they cut deeper than a knife.

I sniffed but not allowing tears to fall as I blocked out the noises around me before I felt a hand on my shoulder and looked up to see a familiar red-head. I watched as she yelled at them defending me and then offered her hand to help me up.

"I'm sorry.." I sniffed, god I hate feeling so weak.

"It's okay, would you like to be friends?" She smiled happily

"...you...want to be my friend?.." I sniffed

"Yeah! Silly!" She smiled
