-Emily's POV-
It's been three months since I met Skylar Cole. She said she would go back to hunting on her own once I was healed, but that didn't happen. I've been fully healed for about a month now, and Skylar and I are still hunting together. Even though she doesn't want to admit it, she enjoys having a hunting partner, and I do too. Before I met Skylar, I had hunted on my own for about two months, and it got pretty lonely. I couldn't imagine doing that for two years as Skylar did.
Over the past three months, Skylar and I have grown pretty close. I haven't had a close friend like Sky since Aida. Well, we're not that close, but we're still good friends. I still haven't told her about Dean or my powers, and I don't plan on it anytime soon. I also have a feeling that Skylar's not telling me something as well, but I'm not going to question her because she doesn't question me.
Currently, we're heading to Indiana for a witch case. We decided to take my Cadillac because it's too much work to have two cars. Skylar didn't want to sell her parent's old car, so we dropped it off at another hunter's place. She's currently sitting in the passenger side reading about the case. As we pull into the town, I slow down, and Skylar stops her reading.
"So, from what I read all of the murders seem to have been connected to one family, the Prescott's. Their the rich family of the town," Skylar says.
"Ooh. After we kill them can we steal some of their stuff?" I ask. Skylar gives me a strange look. "What? I'm serious."
She rolls her eyes. "Fine, but not too much." I smile, but what after she says next, my smile falls. "The most recent death was one of their maids, and after she died the other one quit. Now, they're looking for two new maids."
"No," I say knowing what she'll say next.
"Yes," she says. "I don't want to either, but this is our only way to get on the inside."
I sigh. "Fine, but if I have to wear that stupid maid costume, I'm quitting."
---
"I'm sorry girls, but we just hired a new maid. We only have room for one more maid," the head of the Prescott family, Fiona Prescott, says. Before I even entered the house, I could sense her energy. It's an old strong, dark, elegant witch's energy. It reminds me of Rowena, but more chilling.
Skylar and I exchange glances. "That's okay," she says with a nice smile and a preppy voice. I try not to laugh at Skylar acting all happy and preppy because I know how much she hates it. "I guess only one of us get the job then," she says trying to add a pang of sadness. I hope Sky gets the job, so I can sit in the motel room all day and pretend to do research while she works the case.
Fiona smiles at the two of us. "Well, should we begin the interviews then?" she asks.
---
After our interviews, Skylar and I checked into a motel. We're reading up on the case and other witch lore while waiting for a call from Fiona. Suddenly, my phone rings, and I see that the caller ID is an unrecognized number.
"Is it Fiona?" Sky asks.
"I guess we'll see," I reply as I answer it. "Hello?" I say into the phone.
"Hello, is this Cameron Myers?" the person on the other end of the phone asks, and I recognize Fiona's voice.
I give Skylar a nod letting her know it's Fiona. "Uh, yes it is," I say. Cameron Myers is the pseudonym I used for this case.
