Yuno had fallen asleep on the bed near Asta's arms. He held onto Asta's hand to prevent him from hurting himself by trying to take off the bracelet. Asta stirred, and opened his eyes. There was a bit red mixed into the green in his eyes, and his cheek itched.

Asta felt something warm on his hand, and looked down. He saw Yuno's hand, and smiled. He slowly moved his hand, and sat up. He frowned as he scratched his cheek.

"Asta? You're awake?"

Asta looked to the side, and saw Yuno rubbing his eyes. He nodded, and noticed that Yuno had gotten serious. Before Asta could ask, Yuno got closer to his face.

"Your eyes..."

"What about them?" Asta asked, scooting back and crossing his legs.

"They're...nevermind," Yuno said, standing up. "I'm going to get something to eat."

Asta nodded even if Yuno didn't see. He bit his lip as the itching continued. He looked down at the bracelet, and saw that his wrist was red. Asta sighed.

"What happened?" Asta whispered to himself.

Yuno came back, and Asta hid his hand underneath the blanket he had. The black haired teen looked at him with confusion, but Asta grinned.

"Food! Thanks, Yuno!"

Yuno shook his head, but gave him the food anyway.

"They told me you don't have to go over there to eat," Yuno told him, watching as Asta ate. "They said you were fine, but the way you fainted wasn't normal to me."

"How?" Asta asked with his mouth full.

Yuno scrunched up his face, but didn't say anything about that. He decided to try and figure out what had happen to Asta when he was gone.

"That bracelet has something," Yuno told him, pointing to his hand, which was still underneath the blanket. "It isn't normal. I tried to take it off, but it hurt my hand. When you tried taking it off, you fainted. While you were asleep, you kept tugging at it, but you had a pained expression."

Asta was going to say something when he dropped his food. He pouted, and took out his other hand from underneath the blanket. He tried to hide it, but it was his dominant hand and couldn't to many things without it.

Yuno narrowed his eyes when he saw the redness starting to appear around it. The green gems on the bracelet glowed. He grabbed his arm, making Asta drop his food again.

"H-hey! That hurts!" Asta yelled.

Yuno didn't loosen his grip, and Asta pulled hid hand back. The warmth of Yuno's hand made his wrist ache for a reason he didn't understand.

"I though this had gone down," Yuno muttered.

Asta rolled his eyes, and let Yuno look over the bracelet. He scratched his cheek, and Yuno glanced up. Yuno sighed, and back away.

"Do you remember anything?"

Asta shook his head, noticing how serious and worried Yuno looked. Asta continued eating, but Yuno couldn't rest. Whenever he was close to Asta, that bracelet always had some kind of reaction, whether it glowed or hurt either of them.

Asta seemed a bit worried, but not as much as Yuno. Asta was someone who would brush things off, making Yuno frustrated.

"Hey, does that mean we can't go with the magic knights?" Asta spoke up.

Yuno shook his head a bit, getting rid of any other thoughts. He looked up at his friend, and noticed the downcast look on his face. They were both aiming for becoming the Wizard King, even if Asta didn't have magic. Yuno could tell that he knew all this had a big effect on that.

"Probably not," Yuno responded quietly.

"Well, I probably can't. I'm still stuck in bed, and every single part of my body aches," Asta told him after a short pause. "I won't hold you back."

"Asta, we said we were doing this together," Yuno was quick to reply. "And we are."

Asta shrugged. "I got lost on the very same day I got my grimoire. I feel weak."

"But you aren't."

"No, seriously!" Asta exclaimed, lifting his hands. "I don't think I can even walk right now!"

Yuno frowned, and Asta sighed.

"Sorry. Go without me."

Asta's defeated expression hurt Yuno. If only he would recover faster, but nothing was working. His weak state seemed like it would last a while.

"No way."

Asta puffed his cheeks out. He put the dishes on the side of the bed, and threw the blankets off him.

"I'll go watch you at least," Asta told him, and Yuno shook his head. "It's either that, or I stay here."

Yuno sighed. Asta was very stubborn when he wanted to be. He agreed, but he had a bad feeling. If it weren't for Asta, he would probably stay.

"But you," Yuno told him, poking Asta's forehead with one finger, "have to promise me that you'll stay safe. No running off to who knows where and faint again or get yourself lost."

"Promise!" Asta said, then looked away, blushing. "Well, I'll try. Can't promise you that, Yuno."

Yuno stood up, and took the dishes. He gave Asta one last glance, and turned away. Asta sighed, and looked at his hand. The green gems weren't glowing, but he still felt like it was warm. His body still ached, and his cheek was still itching. His eyes burned as if he had been crying or hadn't slept.

For a second, after Yuno got up, he felt a strange feeling and urge to get up and push him out or to even fight him, making the gems on the bracelet glow again. Asta couldn't understand why, he had never wanted to hurt his friends.

Asta clenched his hands, and brought them to his head. He leaned forward, shaking away those thoughts. His head started hurting, and he groaned. His eyes were shut tightly, but even still, he could see a strange shadow.

"Asta, just a bit more. Wait, and we'll come back for you. Demon King. Just wait for us."

A/N: I hope I'm doing this alright. Sorry if I'm taking too long, and sorry if they're out of character. I might change the title. If it does, it'll probably be "A different kind of King". But I'm not sure yet.
