        Sakura's POV

It was a nice evening, the sun was just beginning to set. I was lost in thought when an a abrupt knock on my door snapped me out of my trance. I walked over to the door and cracked it open. It was none other than my best friend Naruto.

"Heyy Sakura!!" He yelled excitedly. I smiled at him.

"Hey Naruto, what's up?" I asked him. He placed his finger on his chin and thought for a minute. I chuckled at him. He forgets everything. He snapped his fingers.

"I remember! Lady Tsunade wants you!" He exclaimed. I nodded and went with him to Lady Tsunade's office with him.

When we got there I knocked 3 times and she answered immediately.

"Ahh Sakura, come in, come in. Thanks Naruto, you can go now." She said closing the door in his face. She then turned around and motioned for me to follow her.

She sat down in front of her desk as I stood there waiting for her to speak.

"I need you to deliver a message to the Kazekage, and I need you to leave tonight." She said while handing me a scroll. I looked at her strangely.

"But Lady Tsunade the sun is almost completely down. Can't I leave first thing in the morning?" I asked her. Her face remained serious.

"It cannot wait. It is very important that the Kazekage receives this message as soon as possible." She said. I sighed. "Now go and pack a bag and get going." She said. I nodded.

"Yes Lady Tsunade." I said while exiting her office and heading home to pack a bag.

When I arrived, Naruto was waiting there for me. He greeted me with a wave and a smile. I gladly returned both.

"So what did Granny want?" He asked while following me inside. Before I answered I went and got my backpack and began to fill it.

"She wants me to deliver a message to the Kazekage. I have to leave tonight." I said mumbling the last part. Naruto's eye's almost shot out of his head.

"You can't leave right now, especially not alone!" He exclaimed. I sighed and continued to pack.

"I know Naruto, but I am more than capable of protecting myself." I said while finishing packing. I put my backpack on and headed for the door. Naruto stopped me by grabbing my arm.

"Please don't go." He said. I turned around.

"I'm sorry Naruto but I have to go. I will be back in no time, trust me." I said with a small smile. He pulled me into a tight embrace.

"Just be careful." He whispered into my ear. We parted and I went on my way to the Sand Village.

I have been running for about 3 hours now. I finally decided to take a break. I sat down up against a tree. I sighed and closed my eyes for a moment. It was completely dark out now. I heard rustling in a bush a couple feet from me. My eyes shot open.

"Who's there?" I shouted. I got no response. I stood up and took out a kunai. I got into a defensive stance. "Show yourself!" I demanded. I heard some more rustling, followed by footsteps.

I was stunned when I saw who emerging from the bushes. It was none other than Itachi Uchiha and his partner Kisame. What are the akatsuki doing around here? My grip tightened on my kunai.
