Chapter Nine

David "East" Easton

Time...Thats all I had was time. It was killing me we have been at the E.R. for almost 12 hours, Sunjai was asleep in Tremaine lap as I just kept my head down.

"What did the voice sound like?" Tremaine asked.

"It was raspy but with a sort of accent I don't know where from though." I said.

"She's going to be ok East." He said.

"How do you know that you weren't there." I snapped.

"You right but you have to have faith East." He said.

I sigh and put my head in my hands.

"Aniyah Rose?" The doctor called out.

"That's us." I said.

"Hello I'm Doctor Underwood." He said.

"How is she?" Sunjai asked.

"She pulled through the surgery it was some internal bleeding but she manage to get through it, she's just resting up but she's fine." He said.

"Can we see her?" I asked.

"Since she's still in I.C.U. only one person at a time." He said.

"Yo east go ahead I'm going to take Sunjai back home." Tremaine said.

"You gone come back tomorrow?" I asked.

"Yeah she just needs to rest." He said.

I nodded my head understandingly. I grabbed my jacket and went to Aniyah's room. She layed there sleeping, I sat down and rubbed her hand. My mind kept wondering who was after us and why?

"David." She mumbled.

"Hey baby I'm here I'm here." I said.

"What happen?" She asked.

"You was shot." I said.

She sat up and groaned as she held her side.

"You have to move slow." I said.

"I'm fine." She mumbled.

"I'm sorry." I mumbled.

"It's not your fault David." She sighed.

"If I would've kept you away from all this then none of this would be happening right now I'm so sorry baby." I said.

"It's okay baby I'm still here aren't I?" She asked smiling.

I did a weak smile and rubbed her hand.

"Yeah the Doctor said you was a trooper." I said.

"Yeah I guess so." She said.

"I love you." I said.

"I love you to David." She said.

I pecked her forehead.
