Chapter 3
I opened my eyes and when I looked at the clock beside my bed it says 3 PM. I still have time before I go down. My mind is still a mess with all the revelation that happened last night. Charlie is the main reason of my dilemma. For the past years I was under the impression that he hated me, that he hated me being different and wanting more than just staying here in Iowa. He found his life here and I envy him as he is simple, serious and no bullshit what so ever. I on the other hand, had lots of issues and I know for a fact that I am the most confused person in the world. So why can't I just be brave enough and follow my dreams? My dad supports me, Shelly and now Charlie also supports me. So what the hell is wrong? Do I really need an approval from my mother? I was contemplating when I heard my phone beeps.
Are you up yet?
I checked the number and it is unknown? Could this be Charlie? My phone beeps again.
It's Charlie by the way. I got your number from Shelly's phone. Don't tell her.
I mentally laughed. He would be in a lot of trouble if Shelly knew he snooped on her phone.
Yes I am up. Don't worry I won't tell Shelly. She will go ballistic if she knew you went through her phone.
I stretched my body and got up. I was fixing my bed when Charlie responded.
Don't I know that? She can be a drama queen. Want to go out and have breakfast at the diner before we start our day?
Sure. Just give me 15 minutes to get ready.
Butterflies in my stomach are now doing a summersault; I mentally scolded myself for being excited. This is not a date Ally, just two people getting something to eat, don't over think this. I repeated to myself.
I got into the shower and loved the cold water on my tired body. I continued with my business and once I am done I went to my closet to look for something to wear. I got my guns and roses t-shirt which is one size bigger for my body and a black ripped jeans. To complete my look, I searched for my red Doc Martens and immediately proceeded to comb my hair. I grab my wallet and placed it in a black sling bag together with my phone. I went down and I saw everyone in the kitchen having their afternoon snacks.
"Hi Guys"
Shelly got up and gave me a hug.
"You look pretty hot. Where are you going?"
"Charlie and I are going out for breakfast at the diner."
Everyone was stunned and I saw my dad stopped drinking his coffee. Is something wrong? I looked at everyone's face and it was a mixture of shocked. Nancy was first to recover and immediately a smiled formed at her face.
"It's great that you're getting along. The diner serves pancakes all day. You two enjoy."
She said.
Charlie was blushing and he was mortified. Paul had a smirk on his face and he was giving Charlie that you go bro look. My father's face on the other hand was a stoic and I can't decipher what's his thinking, I search for his eyes and as soon as he spotted me looking at him he force a smile. Something is wrong and I will need to use my ability to get answer later when I return. I heard Charlie cleared his throat.
"Let's go Ally; we need to be back by 5PM."
"Right, are we driving?"
"Yap, we'll use my pick up."
I said my goodbye to my parents and everyone in the kitchen as I followed Charlie to the Garage, over the years our family has acquired a lot of vehicles and Charlie has a deep love for his pick-up. This is the first time that I would be riding it, I have always admire is red f-150 truck. It was such a beauty, Charlie even changed its rims to black so it was really a stand up, I wonder how many girls have ridden it.
