Cassy POV
"I think you have to go to the hospital." I whispered quietly to Ross. He shook his head.
"I'll be fine. It's just a little cold." He said, trying to sit up from his bed. A look of pain flashed across his face as he clenched his stomach and laid back down. I picked up the bucket and placed it next to the bed.
I placed a light kiss on his cold, sweaty forehead and left to find a thermometer and ibuprofen.
Sadly, I came back to see Ross sitting up, hunched over the bucket. I sat next to him and rubbed his back, sometimes kissing his shoulder. I could hear him sob quietly, which caused my heart to drop. When he finished, I gave him mouth wash to gargle and spit in the bucket.
"Here. Hold this under your tongue and lay down until I get back." I said. He nodded weakly and closed his eyes.
As I made my way to the bathroom to clean out the bucket, I couldn't help but think about how severe this was. Vomiting 6-8 times a day.? That can't be right. I've never seen him this bad. Not even with a stomach virus. Riker said that it could be the Swine Flu. Rocky said it could be HIV (haha, so funny). Rydel said it might even be life threatening. Whatever it is, he refuses to go to the hospital. He doesn't want to 'worry his fans'. Yet the main person he's worrying is me.
"Cassy.! " His raspy voice called. I hurried back to the bedroom to see him.
"Yes.? " I panicked, afraid he was going to be sick again. Instead, he just handed me the thermometer. It read *115.8.
"Stormie.!" I yelled. She hurried into the room, receiving the thermometer. A look of terror flashed across her face.
"Cassy, get him together. We're going to the hospital." She said.
"But Mom-" He started. She raised her hand.
"No Ross. You're going; that's final." She said, walking out of the room. He sniffed, slumping back onto the bed.
"Come on, you have to take a shower." I said, pulling him up and helping him there. As he took a shower, I pulled out his clothes and shoes.
When he came back into the room, he was leaning heavily on the door frame. When we finally got his clothes on, I had to help him downstairs. By now, he was breathing heavily and putting all of his weight on my weak body.
Finally getting him in the car, Ross sat rigidly still; no longer panting. No longer breathing....
"Ross.?" I asked looking up at him. Nothing.
"Rossy.?" Nada.
"Babe.? " He always responded to this. Just not this time. I put my ear next to his heart. Nothing.
"STORMIE HE'S NOT BREATHING.! "I cried out. All of the Lynches looked at me with wide eyes.
"We- we're almost there." Mark whispered, pressing down on the gas pedal.
"Ross, don't give up." Riker said.
"Come on Ross, you'll survive." Rydel said.
"You're going to be alright." Rocky whispered.
"Don't let us lose you." Ryland sobbed, in tears along the rest of us. It seems like with every comment, the doubt in the air became thicker. As we pulled into the driveway, I spoke what seemed to be the last words I'd ever say to him.
"I love you.".

After the paramedics rushed him to the ER, we didn't hear a single thing. It felt like the waiting room was in rigid, scary silence. Mark held Stormie closely, so did Riker to Rydel. Rocky and Ryland sulked, leaning on each other. I sat across from them, in a state of mental shock.
"Lynch.? " The Doctor asked. All of our heads snapped to him.
"May I please speak to the family alone.? " He asked. They all got up and went around the corner with him. I sat alone, contemplating what he might be saying. They went so far, I couldn't even hear them.
Do you understand what it feels like to sit in the waiting room for hours, not knowing what's going on.? Shit. It feels like shit.
Only the doctor came back, asking me if I wanted to see him. He lead me to the room, opening the door and revealing his family crowded around the bed..
"What's the verdict.? " I asked the doctor.
"It was just a stomach virus. If you had got him here sooner, it would have been taken care of before it got this bad, but he'll be perfectly fine." He flashed me a smile and left.
I approached the bed slowly, taking in all of their smiles.
Ross looked up at me and smiled, reaching for my hand and pulling me closer.
"This is why you should listen to me." I joked.
"Only because you're the best girlfriend in the world." He smiled, kissing me softly.
"By the way Cassy.? "
"Yeah.? "
"I love you too."
Tada.! Enjoy, Cassy.!
