Borderlands: End of Simulation

Chapter 1

I didn't know how long I was out. But when I came to the first thing I noticed was my build; it had grown tremendously in muscle and height. I tried to move but my body wasn't cooperating with my mental commands. Which occured to me as if I was crippled by the Hyperion bastards in the facility. I tried to will my head to take a lean to my legs or even my arms for any extra support. Yet nothing happened. All I had was my ey- well never mind me missing half my vision. But from what I could tell I was still in the facility in some kind of cell. And below my vision was my chest going through heavy, raspy breaths. It was uncomftorable enough to find my own will not responding with my "body", but suddenly my vision went out and in as if my eye blinked. I felt it but never commanded it. Then my hearing came into play as the footsteps against the steel floor outside of the cell came eerily closer. Next was my vocal cords, and in a very alien way nonetheless. "I SMELL THE CARNAGE APPROCHING! SING TO ME LITTLE BIRDY!" Well that was... un-nerving. And to think I was lucky to know that my vocabulary didn't need any fine tuning because I could hear myself speak, "What the fuck?" However it was on deaf ears as it was nothing more than an audible thought in whatever my shell had become. Soon though the guard came rushing to the cell door; a Hyperion engineer to be exact. He reached out for his SMG and pointed it at me. "Quiet down jackhole!" My body finally began to relenquish itself from it's seated position and into a more threatening stance; damn I was tall! "THE ECSTACY OF YOUR CRIES FEEDS MY HUNGER! GIVE ME YOUR SOUL FOR MINE TO PET!" And so this thing has possibly ended my life as the engineer fired his rounds into my chest... Wait. Why was I still standing? Theses bullets hurt like hell and yet my body had no nerve to make it collapse. Whatever has happened to me just might be a blessing hidden in this "thing's" blood. I felt my eye beginning to twitch uncontrollably and my neck cracking along in its own twitch. I had no idea what this guy was thinking, but as soon as I took off toward the metal bars of the cell, there was no doubt in my mind this guy was completely insane! Bullets still cascaded my chest as I he grasped the bars and bended them apart with this newfound strength. "Dude what are you doing trying to get me killed?" He didn't pay me any mind as he rushed the engineer and literally reached out and pulled out his intestines. Unbeliveable! Whoever has my body has the same quench for bloodlust as I did when Jac- it then hit me like a ton of bricks. It was an uncertainty, but it would be worth a try. "Who are you?" I spoke calmly to penetrate his senses to a point where he was only a solemn creation with me. "THE NAME OF MY DAGGER IS NEVERMORE! NEVER DID I HEAR CHILDREN WEEP FOR KRIEG!" Okay the only "normal" phrase I got close to a name would have to be Krieg. Looks like I'm in luck. "Krieg you need to escape this place. If you don't you will surely die at the hands of Handsome Jack and his further torture of experimentation of your body." He let out a growl and began open up his.. face? Wait no! I recognised that mask from anywhere. It was the mask of one of the most wicked bandits from Pandora, I became a psyco! And considering my strength and size, a Bad Ass one. My realization of my form was cut short as I found myself, or Krieg, maniacally laughing as he was tearing a Hyperion gaurd in half all the while the hall that WE were now in glowed a solid red as an alarm blared repeatively through our ears. Didn't seem to bother him though. He just continued to run like the madman he is and.. ugh. Devoured the dropped flesh he had already ripped out. The taste was a vulgar yet sweet, which made MYSELF want to vomit! However, Krieg was another story; he savored each and every ounce of crimson that touch his tongue, and the meat would be chewed methodically as if it were a piece of fried chicken. I wasn't about to ask him to stop though. I needed this alliance if I was to ever escape this base. Not a moment too soon I found this psyco crashing through the bullet proof glass of the experimentation room. Our arrival sent the scientists fleeing from thier chairs, except for one who had a terrified expression. Her mouth agape as her legs trembled in fear at the sight of the madman towering before her. She looked to be an innocent bystander that meant nothing to my escape. Krieg however was taking a turn for roasting her chest on an open flame. I would not allow it to happen! I spoke in a deep and serious tone, "She's not deserving! She means nothing to our escape." He grasped her long neck and began to apply pressure; I could see veins beginning to pop out around her tender collarbone. "WASTE NOT NEED MORE!" This fool is pulling the chain way too far for me to handle. If he wants to play games, then so be it! I willed my right arm to his throat and thrusted with enough force to feel the blood flow to my head begin to decrease. As he stumbled away from the scarred for life innocent, I pulled his direction to a generator in the corner of the room. It was high voltage, enough so to end this terror. He struggled for control, but clearly I had the upperhand in this fight. It was now or never. "Listen here bud. If WE are to walk out of here alive, there will be ground rules!" I could feel his body wavering back and forth as his monstrous hands grasped his cranium. "Grrrr SH-SH-SHUT UP!" No! I would not let this monster out of this un-punished. His deeds were as far as I was concerned mine, and out of everything I stood for, I was willing to go lengths of feeling the embrace of death swarm around our overgrown shoulders than to kill innocent people. "What is it gonna be bandit? My patience is wearing thin and so is your grip." Inches. Only inches away from the grid and it would all be over. When suddenly he cried out in anger and slammed his taped fist into the steele floor. "Nice one dude." I could tell that our hand came pretty close to being shattered. If I could scream out loud then I would've done so in agony. But to Krieg, adrenaline was keeping him from even flinching. He must be reconsidering because we can't move a muscle right now. The woman still resided frozen next to an oxygen tank; her hands trembled as the tank shook in rythm. She was ducking behind it as if it was a shield from this madness. And finally we stood up with a bloodied knuckle twitching left and right from the strucked nerves, though I doubt Krieg cared. "FLY LADY! BEFORE I CUT YOUR EYE LIDS SO YOU CAN WATCH THE END!" At that second she jolted from the tank and fled into one of the halls behind us; it was likely that she was calling support from the moonbase for when we departed the base. But at least she was safe from harm and our escape a breeze. Once we were outside, we found the welcoming commitee; 2 Hyperion Bunkers. They were already sending out motars directly at our direction. Krieg however, simply dodged them with crafty athleticsism by utilizing a pk roll to the side arch angle of the Bunker's targeted region. Unfortunately that wasn't enough to avoid the intense after shock of the explosions; we were then sent flying into the side of a construction bar. Again I felt the pain coursing in my head from the collision, but krieg all the while started his sprint toward a Hyperion safegaurd. "This is only prolonging the inevitable. Eventually they will break this safehold and tear us to pieces." No response as our vision turned wild once again as Krieg foolishly ran in front of the Bunkers. If there was any hope of even survival, not to mention escaping the base, this maniac just threw it away. I could already feel the heat of the beams protruding from the ominous eyes eradicating our flesh. But in the midst of this untimely end, he screamed, "BRING THE AXE! DRINK THE HEALTH!". Heh some last words idiot. I awaited the grip of death until I felt... nothing. We were alive, but the burning sensation I was feeling before stopped entirely. What was this? The beams were still glazing our body! Then it hit me. Whatever he yelled triggered a very faint tingle that shook my being. My vision began to turn to an dreary green, and I couldn't tell exactly but were we taller? I tried to confirm these changes in the theatrical vision I now aquired, but he was already sprinting at an unbelievable speed to the Bunker on the right. It wasn't more than a few seconds before we were at eye level with the Hyperion war machine. Then we thrusted our right fist into its core socket. Electricity began to surge around us ( including the malfunctioning Bunker) and as we took our hand out, it collapsed on its front, thus imploding from its sudden loss of power... I feel like my mind just mimicked. Now I could go through all of the astonishment I felt seeing the handiwork of this psyco, but words don't do justice. Before I could say anything to Krieg, we were already leaping ontop of the 2nd Bunker ripping out it's shield turret and began to gorge himself on the inner workings with our enlarged right hand; tearing each component away in a vivid motion with wires sparking wildly. With the Bunker infested with our presence, it started to malfunction and and lean to the front. "Okay enough fun, we need to get out before we implode along with this thing." He twisted and contorted our body to take a more destructive route. The Bunker was about to implode any second now, and Krieg could care less about the damage the implosion could cause us! He was tearing out more pieces of electronic material until he was nearing the exaust vent in the back. However as we kicked the vent out of its conjoined frame, the Bunker then blasted to pieces and sent us flying off the cliff and to the watery grave I could see approaching as the wind cushioned our face. The only thing to comfort death's clutches. "IMMMMMORTAL!!" he screamed.
