"WAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!! MMOOOOMMMMMYYYY!!!" Cried the two-year-old as she was carried off. She looked up at the guards, although to her young mind, they looked like inanimate sheets of steel constructed into a human-like form, complete with hearts just as cold as their icy-like exterior. From the angle she was at, she couldn't see her mother. A woman with an air of importance said harshly "Go. I want her out of my sight. don't stop until you find a town FAR away from here."
"But. You surely don't mean. I mean, come on. She's a child. We couldn-" A guard started to respond.
"Yes. I want her far away as possible." She replied
"But... your connection with her. Wouldn't you want her closer? She could be very dangerous." The guard stated.
"Take her away." The woman hissed. "Now."
"Yes, right away, of course." The squadron of guards marched off, taking the girl with them. The snow they kicked up sent the girl into darkness.

I shot up in my bed, sweating, yet somehow freezing at the same time. 'What was that? Was that real? No, of course, it was just a figment of my imagination. Yet, it felt real.' I thought. 'I wonder-' My thoughts are cut off by a gong. It rang three times, then stopped. I looked around. I was in some kind of healing ward. "Wha-" I started to say but was cut off again, this time by a nurse someone of that nature. (A healer? A doctor? A gauze applier person thingamabob?) She had warm brown eyes, plain brown hair, and you could tell she enjoyed food, giving her a grandma-type feel, just younger.
"Oh! Good, you're awake!" The nurse-healer-doctor-gauze applier person thingamabob said. "Good. I thought you would be like a character in a book where they never wake up until some magical force or handsome prince wakes them up. You're sure like a character in a book in a lot of other ways. You definitely aren't, but.... well, being the only girl dragonrider and whatnot you sure sound like a character in a book. But like my family always says, 'Luo, you're going to get yourself in trouble reading like that. Such a waste of time.' but hey, excuse me for liking to not do farm work. An-"
"Um, excuse me, but where am I, who are you, and can I go back to being deserted in the middle of nowhere now?" I said, talking faster than a bolt from a crossbow.
"Oh, I'm so sorry, dear. That's another thing my parents always get on me about. 'Luo,' they say, 'stop talking so much and saying all these stories. They're no good!'"
"Okay, yeah, great. So can you explain what is going on?"
"Oh, yes, of course. Well, the stronghold was raided by this group of woman dragon riders? I think? So maybe you aren't the only female dragon rider? That would be a very good twist. Man, this would make such a good book."
"Okay. Just. Tell. Me. Where. I. Am. And. Did. Anything. Happen. That. I. Don't. Know. About?!"
"Oh! you're at the healing center, and no, not really. They stole most of the minor dragons, besides of course the one that was with you when we found you. There is some damage in a few different parts of the stronghold, but overall, we got pretty lucky. Even the young major dragons were fine, though you can tell that someone tried to take them before they realized that the hatchlings were already very powerful, so pretty good, overall." Well, why did this 'Lou' have to keep on being kind and nice even after I shouted at her? Now I feel bad. "Welp, you seem to be pretty good, after you drink this potion to strengthen your bones, you'll be good to go."
"Oh, okay, thank you." I grabbed the potion and gulped it down whilst simultaneously thinking about how I shouldn't ask what's in it.
"Good! Now you're good to go!"
