The room was deathly silent. Nobody dared talk. I was the first one to open my mouth. "A-a-are y-you o.k.?" Drew just groaned. 'Groaning means alive', I thought. Drew looked as if all the elements had struck him together. And maybe they had, if Mystic was such a powerful name.
"Drew!" Salami shouted. "Are you o.k.? Speak to me, man. Come on. Please, please, please, please...." He said the last please in no more than a whisper. Tears cascaded down his cheeks.
I cleared my throat. "U...um," I spoke up, swallowing a lump in my throat, "I...I think he's alive...."
"Oh yah, like your some kind an expert?" Hehku asked accusingly.
"O.k., o.k., sorry, but he's breathing so...." Suddenly, a loud flapping noise filled the eating area (cafeteria?) (Place of the Eats?). It was Drew's dragon. However, something was different. It takes me a second to realize that Drew's dragon has a zig-zag stripe on his sides. The stripe was almost identical to a lightning bolt. It even has the electric yellow color! Drew's dragon (who I think I heard is named Koralli) flew over to Drew. The second Koralli touched Drew, his breathing seemed less ragged. Then I realized 'The zig-zags are glowing. They must have a healing property.' Even Drew's shirt, that had been reduced to tatters, was mending.
"Wow! That healing magic is off the charts!" Koota announced, shocked. I heard the teachers in the room and some older students gasp, which was weird, because strong healing magic was cool, but not gasp-worthy. Drew starts to try to sit up. Now the pink spots on Koralli started to glow, too. Koralli spread his wings and a bolt of lightning shot out between them and stayed there. Water started rap around the lightning bolt. The two stayed separate, so the were obviously magic. I caught myself staring, but how could I not? It was all very fascinating. Drew coughed and sat up.
"OW! Ezzenia, that HURT!"Drew said. He nearly fainted when he saw his dragon. "Koralli! How are you holding that up!?!? I thought newborn dragons couldn't do much magic, if any!" Koralli didn't look winded. In fact, he looked energized! Drew stood up looking nothing like he just got hit with a ton of magic. Or, well I think it was a lot... I don't know. Maybe a baby could get more magic than that? My thoughts were interrupted by Drew saying "What type of magic did Ezzenia cast at me?"
"U-um... all types, as far as I can tell... it was some strong magic..." Koota replied. "Well... it was mainly air, but a fair amount of water and lightning. Like, about 36% air, 24% water, 14% lightning, 9% summoning, water borne storm about 4%, ice 3%," his brow furrowed in concentration "heat 3%, fire 3%, rock 2%, and land storm 2%. About...."
"Wow. Precise! Cool!" Drew said, fascinated.
"How are you already fine?!?!" I asked, astonished.
"Well my dragon did just get lightning bolt on both of his sides, so apparently a lot of things are possible." Drew responded, calm, cool, and collected (unlike usually). Another set of wings filled the eating area or whatever. This time though, instead of Drew's dragon's blue with pink and yellow coloring, this dragon had ever-shifting scales that mainly settled mainly on a mystic blue.... was Mystic here? And why? Is it because I cast so much magic she thinks I'm in danger? Or did someone send her? And if so, who? And why? A dark though came to my head. What if we are under attack? And if so, is Koralli and Mystic the only dragons from this year that survived? Suddenly, I heard a scream.
