I'm Laiya Rene Brown but my friends call me Lai.
I stand at 5'3 and weigh 125 pounds. Not too light and I'm not too dark so I consider myself paper-bag brown.
I'm in my senior year at Clearview High; I swear that school can kiss my ass once I bobble walk across that stage.
I'm the only child so if I'm not with my girls, I'm most likely at home not doing shit. That's gone change soon, I filled out an application at Cobbs movie theater and hopefully they'll call me back.
When I was 3 years old, my father left us so up until recently it was me and my mom, Angel Hayes. I haven't heard from my sperm donor since he left but he still wires us money.
My mom is a nurse at Memorial Hospital which means she's rarely home and when she is she's sleeping or with her new boyfriend, Jared. I don't like this nigga. I feel like she put him before me but it's all good. She better not miss me when I leave and that's real!
Anyways, the first football game of the year is here and I'm going with Miyah so she can support her man.
I was currently getting my 28 inch Brazilian hair installed and thinking of a possible outfit for tonight. I looked up to see my mom smiling at her iPhone 4s. I bet she texting that ugly ass nigga.
"Ma, can I borrow the car since you don't have to go in today." I asked crossing my fingers, praying she said yes.
" Yeah, but --" Thank You, JESUS! Everything after she said yeah went in one ear and out the other. As long as she was letting me hold it, I could care less about what she has to say.
"Thank you" I replied with a big Kool-Aid smile.
A hour of pain later, my hair was done and laid to the Gods themselves. Them Clearview hoes gone be hating when they see me walk through. We paid my stylist, thanked him for slaying me and went on our merry way.
Once we got home, I walked in the house and almost stepped in dog shit. This nigga need to train his fucking mutt! Oh-- My mom interrupted my thoughts.
"Lai, can you clean that up?"
"Um, no. That's not my mutt. He need to clean it, I'm not molly the maid or Cinderella." and with that I continued to walk to my room.
"I guess your ass gone use them feet to get to that damn game then." I did a quick 180 and mumbled a couple of obscenities.
Once I picked up the feces and wiped the floor, I washed my hands and went in my room. Browsing through my closet I settled on a crop top, studded high-waisted shorts and studded Jeffrey Campbell gladiator sandals.
I took a bird bath and started to get ready. A good 20 minutes later I was pulling to Miyah's house, calling her to come outside. I thought I'll just pull up on her since that hoe swore I'll never get the car.
"What's up, Sus?" she greeted.
"Come on, I'm outside," I said.
"How bitch How, you ain't got no wheels!" she laughed.
"Shut up, ho. My momma let me hold the whip, so come on bitch" I hung up. I knew that bitch was gone try to be funny, that's my girl tho. 5 minutes passed and her ass still ain't come out yet so while waiting on her, I put on Reloaded by Rich Homie Quan. That's my shit.
'This for the bitches say I wouldn't be shit. Look at me now motherfucker, I'm rich.' Rapping along I looked to my right and seen her walking down the steps.
"Bitch, what took you so long?" I questioned as I pulled off.
"My bugging ass momma" she replied while taking off her sweats. Once they was off, she threw them in the backseat and started looking at me.
"Bitch, you look good I guess" she complimented me.
"Thank you, girl."
30 minutes later we pulled up to Traz Powell stadium and searched for a decent parking spot. I found one and we checked ourselves out in the mirror. Satisfied with what we saw we got out and walked towards the ticket booth.
Oh Lawd, the babies are out tonight! Miyah's yelling snapped me from my scoping.
"And your ass gone be missing if you don't let my arm go." she yelled.
"Why you acting like that?" Niggas don't know how to take hints.
"Jaleel, we're over, let it go." And with a hair flip, she dismissed him.
"Alright, be like that," he yelled and I tried to suppress my laugh. Miyah just embarrassed this nigga.
Just like I thought, them Clearview hoes wasted no time talking shit as soon as we sat down. They couldn't even give us 5 minutes before they started whispering and staring holes in a bitch face. Knowing Miyah, she wasn't gone let it go.
"Excuse me, can I have my face back?" Miyah asked. I know her too well. The girl rolled her eyes and mumbled something under her breath.
"You wanna repeat that, bitch?"
"Nah, you good." she replied. Scary ass Hoe.
"That's what the fuck I thought." I decided to cool down the situation.
"Girl, we did not come here to fight, we came to see yo man." I intervened.
"I know, I know. Let me stop letting these hoes pull me out of character."
The game was popping. Fine niggas on my left and fine niggas on my right, constantly selling me dreams but I brushed it off. My relationship status was already complicated and I did not need to add anyone into the mix but that didn't stop me from flirting back.
Me and Jason have been talking since last year and I still didn't have a clue on if we were exclusive or not. Crazy right?
The crowd cheering broke me away from my thoughts. Khambrel just scored another touchdown making the score 21-0 in the first 15 minutes.
Soon after he was well on his way towards the end zone again until this big nigga knocked him off his feet. Literally. Everything started happening to fast for me. First Amiyah was rushing towards the field, I thought. I saw her slow down then charge at this cheerleader.
Taking that as my cue, I ran down there and saved her from getting her ass suspended or put in jail.
"Come on Miyah. whatever's going on this is not the time nor place."
"Fuck that, this skeezer say she pregnant by my man, MY MAN!" she spat.
Pause. Pregnant? If I wasn't in my right mind I would've let her beat her ass, luckily I was.
"Another time, another place. Miyah let's go." Using all of my strength, I dragged her strong ass into the parking lot. Damn, I worked up sweat pulling this hulk ass hoe.
Once we got in the car, she started going off again.
"This nigga gone feel me! I don't give a fuck if his ass even got a concussion from getting hit tonight, he gone feel me! How the fuck he gone disrespect me like that, Lai? With a bum bitch at that, that hoe don't even compare!"
"Before you do something stupid, at least talk to him first. These hoes be lying now a days."
"Yeah, you right but still even the thought just piss me off," she said calming down.
After I dropped Miyah off, I went home.
Upon entering the house, I heard my momma voice and a male voice I couldn't decipher. Following their voices, I ended up in the den and my mom was talking to a man I didn't even know. Clearing my throat, I got their attention.
"Ma, who is this?" Instead of my mom answering, the mystery guest did.
"I'm your father, Lai."
