Brittany's POV:

It has been three monhs since the East-Walk Murders. That's what people called 'em now. Tailor was brought before a jury last month, finally having turned eighteen. She was found guilty on two charges of possesion of a schedule one drug, in addition to two counts of first degree murder.

She was sentenced to life in prison. Her first parol date wasn't set until twenty five years from now.

Mandy had switched schools, but still lived in the same apartments.

Emily had been given a beautiful funeral where people said the nicest things.

As for me? No one believed I was innocent. They just didn't have the proof to tie me to the crimes. I was the 'Boradwalk Bitch'. I had no friends anymore. I was the girl who helped kill two of her closest friends all over the state of Florida. But it didn't matter. I was free. Now every Sunday at three I visited the east boardwalk. Mandy didn't come anymore, but that went without saying. Too much blood had been spilled here. And that's why I found myself attarcted to it. It knew everything I did. I felt tied to it. Maybe I wasn't as free as I believed.

Tai had written me a letter from juvie before she was diagnosed with chronic depression and psychopathic tendencies and sent in for further evaluation. It explained how she was attacked, and how no one believed her description, because she had described Mindy, and Mandy was out of town. She swore up and down that that's what she saw. Some people said I was the one who did it, they accused me of dressing the the twin and scaring the daylights out of Tailor. She told me what her dad asked her, 'bout ghosts. It was on repeat in my head.

I did believe.

We're nothing but pawns, so move to where they want 'cuz life is just a game.

I breathed in the warm summer air, dreading returning to school next week.

"I knew you'd be here," I jumped when I saw Mandy.

"M-" she cut me off by pouncing on me. She knocked me to the boards and had her hands around my throat, with a smile upon her face. She squeezed until I choked, and she would not let go until she felt okay.

"You will pay the price for betraying me," she whispered before pulling me up by my shirt collar. She walked with me that way to the end of the boardwalk, I tried desperately to keep my footing as she pushed me backwards. "Did you ever learn to swim?" she smirked as we reached the end.

"Only Mindy knew..." it was then I noticed her jewelry wasn't in the right place. She smiled a crooked smile. I involutarily took a step back and fell into the water. I struggled to stay at the surface. "Help! Help me!" I screamed as I flopped.

"Save your self! The tide is rising high... It's sink or swim. It's hit or miss, what will you pick? Take some action! Don't let the undertoe grab hold... It's sink or swim, hit or miss," she mocked and laughed. "MAN OVERBOARD, MAN OVERBOARD!" she laughed harder now. She walked to the egde and for a moment I thought she was going to save me. She reached out and grabbed my hand.

"Than-" she stopped me

"I bid farewell, to you fairweather friend. I know this day you'll get what you deserve. And after all the bridges you have burned, I've forgiven you for things that you have done," as she finished talking she moved her hand from my arms to my head and pushed me under. Above the surface I heard the words "Sink or swim," one more time before the world faded black.
