Engagement Off

"Becca..." He says, grabbing my arm keeping me from walking off.

I pull out of his grip and glare at him.

"I gave you one too many chances,  Brian. You cheated on me for the last time," my last words hard to speak.

I turn away from him and walk towards my car. Before opening my car door I turn back to him, pulling my engagement ring off.

"Here," I say throwing it at him. "Why don't you give it to Michelle. I'm sure that backstabbing horsefaced BITCH will love it."

I get in my car and put my keys in the ignition. I give him one last glance as I turn the key and back out of his driveway. I decide I'm gonna go see Jimmy since he's my best friend and will comfort me like he always has. I speed off down the road heading towards his house. When I get there I go up to his door and ring his doorbell five times, warning him that it's me. The door opens about a minute later and he's standing there grinning wide. When he sees my face his smile fades.

"Becca? What's wrong?" He asks with such worry and care.

"He cheated again Jimmy. I'm done with him. No more chances."

His face darkens and he clenches his fists.

"I'm gonna fucking kill him," he says growling lowly.

I frown and put my hand on his cheek.

"Don't Jimmy... Going to prison over him isn't worth it. Plus, what will I do without my best friend?"

His face lightens up a bit and he shakes his head.

"I'm sorry Becca... I just care about you so much. You know that."

"I know," I sigh. "I just... Don't want you gone."

He grabs me and pulls me into a tight hug, kissing the top of my head.

"I won't do it if you don't want me to."

I look up at him with a tear rolling down my cheek.

"I can't lose you Jimmy... I can't. You're all I have. My fucking brother abandoned me because his bitch wife despises me... Matt and Johnny are fucking nowhere to be found.... Ever since you guys broke up our lives shot to Hell."

He wipes my tear and kisses my forehead softly.

"My life is perfect because I still have you," he says grinning.

I blush and look down.

"Really?"

He lifts my chin with his hand lightly and smiles.

"Yes Becca. Really. I love you. You're my best friend and you're the best thing that's ever happened to me."

I smile wide and hug him tightly.

"Thanks Jimmy. I love you so much."

"You wanna come inside and watch a movie or something? I've been bored all day. You coming here saved me," he says chuckling.

I giggle and nod, walking inside and into the living room. I plop down on the couch and put my feet up on the coffee table. Jimmy chuckles and follows me in. He lifts me off the couch and sits down, pulling me onto his lap so I'm facing him.

"Hi," he smiles.

"Hi," I say giggling, blushing slightly.

"What movie you wanna watch, babe?"

I blush deeply at him calling me babe and think.

"Uhm... Sweeney Todd?"

"Perfect," he smirks. "Wanna go find it and put it in?"

"Yeah of course."

I kiss his cheek before getting off his lap and going over to his movie collection. I search until I find Sweeney Todd. When I find it I grab it and put it in the DVD player. I go back over to Jimmy and sit back on his lap, this time facing away so I'm looking towards the TV. Jimmy hits play on the remote then wraps his arms around my waist. I grin resting my head on his shoulder.

"I love this movie," I say giggling.

"I know you do," he chuckles. "It's your favorite movie."

"Mm yup! And Jacob's Ladder is yours!"

"Yes ma'am it is!"

I giggle and kiss his cheek. He grins and turns his head so he's looking in my eyes.

"You know," he says brushing the hair from my face. "I've always thought you were beautiful and amazing."

"Yeah?" I ask blushing.

"Yes," he says kissing the corner of my lip.

I turn a deep red and get slightly nervous. Jimmy and I have always had feelings for each other, but never expressed them like this.

"Jimmy..."

"Hm?" He says kissing my neck softly, causing me to moan lowly.

"A-are we gonna try?" I ask nervously.

"Try what?" He asks mumbling against my neck.

"Try being together. As a couple. Like we always wanted."

He pulls back from my neck and smiles wide.

"It's what I always wanted... so yes."

I grin wide looking into his eyes.

"So... We're officially together?"

"Yes," he says kissing me softly on the lips.

I kiss back, but pull back.

"Y-you don't think it's too early considering I just left Brian?"

"Becca he cheated on you multiple times. Getting with me isn't gonna make you look bad at all."

"Okay," I sigh burying my face in his neck.

He rubs my back softly and whispers in my ear, "I love you."

"I love you too Jimmy."

"Let's watch the movie, yeah?"

"Yeah," I giggle.

"Alright babe," he says chuckling.

I giggle and turn to look at the TV. The movie is already 10 minutes in.

"Whoops. That was distracting."

"It's not like you've never watched this movie a million times," he laughs.

"True!"

He kisses my neck and hugs my waist tightly. About halfway through the movie the doorbell rings maniacally. We both look at each other instantly knowing it's Brian.

"Go upstairs to my attic. Now," he says pushing me off him carefully and getting off the couch.

I rush upstairs to his attic, locking the door quietly. I can hear muffled voices at first, but then shouting breaks out.

"I KNOW SHE'S HERE JIMMY! WHERE THE FUCK IS SHE?!"

"LEAVE HER THE HELL ALONE, BRIAN! SHE DOESN'T WANNA BE WITH YOU! YOU CHEATED ON HER!"

"I WANNA TALK TO HER YOU DICK!"

"YOU'RE GOING NOWHERE NEAR MY GIRL!"

I hear the door slam and then footsteps coming up to the attic. I get nervous, but calm down when I hear Jimmy's voice.

"Babe? It's me open the door."

I get up and unlock the door. Jimmy walks in and hugs me to him.

"You alright?"

"Yeah I'm fine. What about you? Did he hurt you?"

"He knows to never hurt me. I'll kill him."

I sigh and bury my face in his chest. He kisses my head softly.

"It'll be okay, Becca. I know it will."

His last few words were growled in a low voice. I bite my lip wondering what's gonna happen next.
