Living was all he could afford
no matter how small a world
fear the demon by the door
so a cloak of hate he wore
he had his voice altered
but his heart often faltered
in search of a peer he ventured
but the horizon nothing gestured
a weak creature he was born
mere breathing made him worn
then he reached serenity
regarded as his sole remedy
but what lies beyond vision
is fear from self's devision
the strength to stand above all
comes by understanding their fall
