Harry and Draco stood outside of the door to Umbridge's office. "Do you want to open the door?" Draco asked.
Harry gave Draco a 'really?' look. "I mean not particularly, but if you don't want to..." Harry grabbed the door knob and slowly opened the door.
"Hello, Mr. Potter and Mr. Malfoy. Come in." Umbridge said.
Draco subtly squeezed Harry's hand and walked in the room. They sat down on the two desks in front of her desk. The desks seemed perfectly set up for the two boys to write lines. Draco internally groaned as he sat down next to Harry. He hated writing lines. His father would make him do it all the time, but it was some ink that scratched your skin. Draco still had a few scars from it. They still resembled words too.
Harry looked over to Draco and saw how distressed he was. Harry wished he could do something to calm him down, but the space between their desks felt like they were a million miles apart.
Umbridge walked over and frowned at the two boys. "Today you are being punished for multiple things. One, for throwing the quidditch game, and two, for homosexuality."
"What? Why is Draco being punished?
"Because he defended homosexuality and you. It also seems like you two are very close. Closer than most friends. Just know that I'm watching you two. If you end up as a couple, I won't be very happy." She frowned at them and got up to get something from her closet.
Draco turned to Harry and gives him a small smile. "She's going to be in for quite a shock." Draco whispered. Harry bit his lip and smiled as he stared at Draco. "Harry?"
Harry shook himself out of it as he looked into Draco's eyes. "Sorry, I was distracted by how hot you are." Harry whispered, as he sat down.
Draco blushed as his eyes widened. "Harry!" He whisper-shouted. He sat down and suddenly noticed the layout of the desk. "No..." He whispered.
"No!" Seven year old Draco shouted as his father grabbed him by the arm. "Don't make me do it, please, father!"
"No son of mine is ever going to use anything muggle! And don't say no to me!" Lucius yelled as he dragged his crying son into his office. "Sit. And write."
"Please father don't make me..." Draco sobbed as he stared at the quill and parchment in front of him.
"Salazar, you're weak. Just do it. Or I'll do something worse." Draco looked up terrified at his words.
"No! Father not that! Anything but that!"
"Then do it. Now!"
Draco shakily picked up the quill and began writing; 'I will not use muggle objects.' about half way through the word he stopped, feeling the words etching into his leg. His father would never have the words show up anywhere that could be seen, so his thighs and chest were covered in scars. He dropped the quill and started to cry harder and harder as the rest of the sentence etched itself into his skin.
"Don't stop, idiot. Keep writing!" Draco couldn't hear him through the pain. "Draco!" His father shouted, pushing his son out of the chair. "If you listened I wouldn't have to do this."
"No! Father, please! Please! NO! NO!" Draco crawled into the fetal position as fear overtook his mind. "PLEASE!"
"CRUCIO!"
A tear slipped down Draco's cheek as he found himself back in Umbridge's classroom. He couldn't take it. "Please don't make me." He whispered as Umbridge passed his desk.
"Mr. Malfoy? Why shouldn't I? It's just writing lines." She said, with such a fake smile.
"I know it's not! I'm not stupid."
"Just write Mr. Malfoy." Her voice started to turn into his father's in his head. "Do it. I don't want to do something worse to you."
Draco felt his heart sink as he started writing. Tears began to spill as he felt the familliar feeling of words carving into his skin. He winced as he finished the sentence. Only then did he look back at what he wrote. 'Homosexuality is wrong.' That was his breaking point. He felt his heart drop. He felt like crying. He touched his face and noticed that he already was. There were tears on the paper. He felt like he was stuck in a pit that no one could help him out of. "Draco?" A soft voice spoke to him, like a light shining into his dark mind. He turned and saw Harry. "Draco are you okay?"
"Don't worry about Mr. Malfoy, right now." Umbridge snapped.
"I'm going to worry about my bo-" He cut himself off. "friend! And you can't stop me!" Harry ran over to Draco and looked at his hand.
"Your what, Mr. Potter?"
"Does it matter what he is to me, proffessor? I'm worried about him. What did you do to him?"
"What he deserves."
Harry turned back to his boyfriend and pulled him out of his seat. "He doesn't deserve any of this. And don't expect us to come back." They walked out of the classroom and walk as fast as they can away from that room.
Draco stopped Harry and looked up into his eyes. "Thank you." Draco said quietly before pulling Harry into a hug. Harry could feel Draco's sobs as he wrapped his arms around Draco.
"Anything for you, Draco. Anything." Harry grabbed Draco's hand. "Do you want to talk about it?"
Draco nodded. "I should, but we should get back to the dorm."
Harry grabbed his hand as they walked through the dark hallways. They reached the dorms and passed all of the students in the common room, just so that they could be alone. Harry paused before passionately kissing Draco. "I just want you to know that I love you, more than the world."
Draco nodded and lead Harry to their bed. "M-my f-father used to hurt me. All the time. If I dropped a plate he would make me write lines, but the ink would cut the words into my skin. A-and i-if I did anything worse than that... He- he- he would u-use crucio on me. I still have scars all over my body from the times he's hurt me. Beyond the words and the crucio." Draco pulled down his pant leg and Harry saw it. The scars that still looked like words.
Harry saw words like 'useless' and 'stupid' over Draco's pale skin. Harry looked up and saw Draco crying. He tackled Draco in a hug. "I get it. I get it. My Uncle Vernon used to hit me all the time. Every time I go home I always come back with bruises."
Draco's eyes widened. "What! I will come over there myself this summer and beat his face in."
Harry gave a light laugh. "No, it's fine. Quidditch has given me some serious abs. He's scared of me now."
"I can agree that your abs are a godsend."
"Really? When have you seen my abs?"
"Do you think I'm not looking when you come into the room after you shower?"
"Draco!" Harry hit his arm playfully.
"What! My boyfriend walks in in only a towel and I'm not supposed to look?"
Harry bit his lip and kissed his boyfriend sweetly. He laid down with Draco and played with Draco's hair. "I'm glad you told me. I love you, so so much."
Draco buried his face in Harry's hair. "I love you too." He mumbled tiredly, snuggling closer to Harry.
Harry smiled and slowly drifted to sleep.
