"This Is My Fault" (22)

Chandler's POV: 

I drop her off at the Starbucks and watch her walk in. Last night was amazing. I felt something different with her. Like she's the person that I've been waiting for forever. She's so amazing. 

I love her more than anything in this world. I just need her. 

Layla's POV:

I worked late tonight. I close up shop. It's 10 o'clock and I'm so tired. I walk outside and begin to text Chandler. 

"Hey sexy lady." A man yelled from the alleyway beside us. 

"Fuck off." I said, back. He walked over to me, and begin to take off my clothes. I screeched. He put his hand over my mouth and continued what he was doing. He took my leggings off. I kicked him in the face. 

He punch me in the face and I felt my eyes bruise and my lip bust. I scream and start running. I yank to my leggings back on, by now, I was running in my bra. It was snowing and I was cold but he had my sweater. I ran to my house and opened the door.

I slide down the door and sit with my face on my knees. I hear footsteps approach me. 

"Layla! Oh My God. Baby!" Chandler said, picking me up and sitting me on the bed. 

"What happened?" He asked, touching my lip making me wince. 

"There was a guy...and he... g-grabbed me and tried to...r-r-rape me." I said, between sobs.

"I should've been there. I'm so sorry baby girl. This is my fault." He said, hugging me, 

"No it's not... You didn't know. You can't blame yourself for this." 

"You're freezing." He said, touching my stomach. I shivered and nodded. He ran into the bathroom and ran a hot bath. He then, walked me in there and began helping me get my clothes off. I stepped into the bathtub before he got naked and climbed in too. 

I leaned on his chest while he played with my hair. I cried onto his chest. 

"Babe, do you want me to leave?" He asked, almost getting up. I pushed him back and stayed there. 

"Please protect me." I whispered. 

"Always." He whispered back.
