Chapter 3 : Blooming Romance

The realisation on their faces said it all, they had loved each other the whole time, but neither one knew it. It seemed like an eternity in the room with Jake, but Dylan loved it. It was a dream come true.

Turning away, Jake had said to the unsuspecting Dylan I've always watched you in P.E especially, but you were always on the opposite team. His face looked a bit ashamed and upset right now.

Looking back at Dylan, Jake could see that he was a bit guilty for this, I didn't want to be on your team said Dylan In case you passed the ball to me, and I freaked out.

Another doctor came in with some x-rays of Dylan's foot. He said with a smile thankfully, its only sprained. The events came rushing back in a flood, and Dylan had realised what happened. He'd been teased for being gay, and rescued by Jake.

Then the doctor turned to Dylan Its too late now to sort out your foot and send you home, so you will need to stay in overnight. Dylan was partially relieved, but missed his own warm bed. Leaving the room the doctor said with a small grin Your boyfriend can stay here as well if you'd like. Both Jakes and Dylans faces had turned as red as roses.

Dylan shot up and asked but where would he sleep? The two were both thinking of sleeping in the bed together, and the doctor replied with

'We have foldable beds specifically for overnight guests.

Dylan seemed relaxed and lay back down. Minutes later they arrived with one of the beds and set it up next to Dylans. It was a bit lower than his, but still high enough so that they could see each others faces. The two were, once again, left alone.

Jake nervously swivelled round to see Dylan and asked the one question he thought he'd never get to say Dylan, do you think that we could maybe and he cut himself off. Dylan had no idea what he was about to hear, he thought it was a bit weird at first and got used to the awkwardness. Jake turned away with a bit of a shout Will you go out with me?!

Dylan looked over is shoulder to see a bright red Jake, and replied with a quiet Id like that, a lot. However in his head he screaming OH MY GOD, DID JAKE JUST ASK ME OUT, OH MY GOD

Would you really?! Jake returned hysterically, and without any thinking he jumped onto Dylans bed and hugged him with everything. Dylan couldn't help but blush.

It was late at night, and both were asleep. However Dylan wasn't calm, he was dreaming about Kieran and everyone judging him for going out with Jake. He visualised Kieran beating him up and not getting help from Jake. This made him shoot up like a speeding bullet, letting out a huge GASP!

This woke up Jake, and his initial reaction was Dylan, are you ok? Dylan was sweating like mad right now and looked over at Jake to see a worried face.

'Yeah Im fine Dylan lied Just a nightmare however; Dylan thought that the nightmare may come true.

Comforting Dylan, Jake got into bed with him and whispered in his ear; you're safe as long as you're with me surprisingly Dylan calmed down and lay back down.

Dylan didn't realise that Jake was still in the bed until they were gazing into each others eyes. Jake had seen ocean blue eyes, and Dylan seen beautiful brown eyes. Dylan whispered to Jake can you stay in bed with me till morning?

Jakes heart was pounding, about to burst from his chest. He calmly returned with whatever you want Dylan turned around waiting for the embrace of Jake; and just as he'd expected, Jake was warm.

They were now spooning in the hospital bed; this was an experience of a lifetime (the adjoining in a hospital, not the actual hospital party alone)

Jake hadn't realised that he was spooning his lifetime crush (now boyfriend). Both of them fell asleep with ease; it was as if they'd been put under an anaesthetic. They seemed to be at ease and joyful with the circumstances, you could even tell in their sleep as they were both slightly smiling.
