Chapter 3.
He unwraps his arm from around her and walks down the stairs over to me. He looks do shocked, "Oh my- Ella what are you doing here?" He says with the most surprised look on his face, "What are you not excited to see me?" I sarcastically say with a little pouty face looking up to him. You see he is 5'10 and I'm 5'4 so there is a good 6 inches between us.. anyways, he pulls me into a hug. The tightest warmest hug ever. Then he whispers so only I can hear, "I really missed you." He then kisses my cheek and releases my waist. He walked over to that girl and set his arm around her. He didn't even introduce me to who ever she is wether she be a one night thing or his girlfriend. I think he noticed what I was thinking, "Oh, Ella.. This is Katie. My.. my uh.. girlfriend." Girlfriend? My heart sank when I heard those words come out of his mouth. Not that I blame him for dating her. I mean we did break up so it's not like I shouldn't have expected him to move on.
We were sitting in the television room when Matt's mother asked Matt to help her. I stood up, "Oh I can help." She smiles lightly at me, "Actually I could use both of your help." I was to help her set the table and Matt help her with the food. I was standing at the door frame of the kitchen when I stopped and listened to their conversation, "Mom why is Ella here?" she responded, "She got back from school and is here until the spring time." He sighs, "No I mean why is she at our house. You know I don't like her. Your just trying to get me to brake up with Katie. Ella's nice and all but, Katie is way better for me." Wow that stung a little in my heart, "Matthew! I had no idea she was even back in town so you be nice. You've known each other since you were 3 months old. Don't be so rude." He was about to say something until I walked into the kitchen, "Hey I just forgot I have a lot of work and stuff to get done so, I'm gonna go. Bye. Nice seeing you again Mrs. Espinosa." I purposefully didn't even acknowledge Matt's presence. I gave her a small hug. I didn't wanna be too rude so I just said, "By Matt. I guess I'll see you around." I just waved to him and walked out. I was grabbing my things from the dinning room when I heard Matt say, "See mom she doesn't even like me anymore. So don't try to get us together again." I waved by to the rest of his family and used my same excuse as to why I was leaving and left. On my walk to my house I started tearing up. Matt doesn't even like me so why can't I stamp thinking about him? I never even have him a second thought when I was in college but, seeing him just brought back all of my feelings toward him..
