"Does she raise gorillas? Does she like doing the tango while watching Doctor Who? What, what about flooding McDonald's with a lifetime supply of lemonade? Or maybe watching Peter Pan in a haunted hotel? Or no, maybe she-" I pester Chris, before he so rudely cuts me off during my guessing game.
Turns out, he actually snagged himself a girlfriend. So when he started to open up the conversation in the car, telling me he swore on the life of his sisters ugly stuffed rabbit, which I'm sure he just adores, I was all ears.
"No, no, no, no, no, and no." He says, trying to act annoyed, but I see the smile on his lips. "Wow, this is your definition of interesting? It hurts, I thought we had at least something in common. Guess not." He sniffs, while at the same time stifling a laugh. He's quite happy.
I furrow my eyes brows, "So what does she do?" I ask carefully.
"She hacks," then quickly adds, "She's still figuring things out, so she can only hack small stuff now, but she's in the process of getting big lots of information. She's learning." He smiles, probably thinking about her.
"That's....cool. Maybe not as cool as a gorilla family, or a lemonade flash flood, but cool." Okay, a hacker, is realistically cool, but Chris here made her seem like one of those you-tubers that do crazy shît for a living.
He shakes his head.
Once we reach our house, I get out, while Chris is just sitting there with his dazed eyes over. "Hey lover boy, if you don't plan on being locked in here, I suggest you get out."
Once he's out, I throw him the keys, and go into our modern, and security equipped house. It was big, definitely too, big for just the three of us. Chris, my best friend since the womb days, my dad, and me.
"It's my car." He quietly mumbles, following me into the house.
"Dad!!" I kick my shoes off, then my socks, then my socks underneat- my relationship with socks are complicated. All that needs to be said is, it's a part of how I live one side of my life.
Chris just walks off towards the direction of the kitchen, not bothering to tell me to tone it down. He knows how it goes. I swear if he eats all of my cheese cake-
I walk past the crisp white walls, furniture, and minimal decor, to go upstairs to the roof. I had a feeling he'd be there, seeing as how he didn't respond to my yelling like how the routine usually goes.
"Dad are you up he-" my dad was currently sweating so much, it looks like he went dancing in the rain, and, a helicopter was sitting in an empty part of the roof. He was talking to someone with a suit, who seemed to be stressed as well, but not as much as my dad. When he hears my voice, he turns around and he quickly jogs over.
"Good thing you're here."
"Okay, Dad wha-"
"No time to talk, any later and I would've left without you guys. Get Chris and yourself in uniform, then hurry your ass back!!" He yells, and watches me leave. My hair is blowing with the crazy wind attacking my skin.
"What now!?" I groan on my way down. I just barley got to salvage some peace, and now this comes up, whatever it is.
"Chris!!" I yell. "Chris!!"
"What, I'm watchi-" he gets cut off by a load moaning sound. Damnit, this kid! He chooses now out of all times to get his fair share of some porn on the screen. I don't understand what boys see in that, it's revolting, really. I groan.
