THE MORNING AFTER LAST CHAPTER
"May come on."
"No."
"You don't even know what I'm gonna say."
"You're gonna ask why I was up so early."
Daisy crossed her arms and huffed.
"Come on. You can talk to me."
May stayed silent and continued hitting the punching bag. Left. Right. Kick. Daisy huffed again and started playfully poking May with her foot until she spoke to her again.
She finally finished a few minutes later and started to unwrap the tape off her arms.
"You're gonna regret doing that."
"Oh yeah? What're you gonna do?"
"Just wait."
"Wait. May no- what're you gonna do," Daisy tried to get up quickly and follow May out of the gym, but instead stumbled and fell to the floor again.-~-
Daisy was on edge for the rest of the day. If they didn't know Daisy they'd think she was insane. Peeking around corners before fully crossing across the hall or constantly looking over shoulder was what she did all day. And the worst part was she only saw May once after training. Daisy thought May didn't see her which was a relief, but in reality May saw her most of the day through the security cameras. Later that night Daisy headed to the kitchen where the team was chatting away. She looked for May, but she was still nowhere to be found.
"Daisy are you alright? You seem on edge dear?" Jemma asked her a few minutes after she hid herself in the corner.
"Yeah just fine. On the other hand, have you seen May?"
"I'm afraid I haven't, why?"
"No reason."
Daisy quickly crossed the room and stood next to Coulson.
"Have you seen May around?" she asked, a little bit of fear in her voice.
"I think she said she was going to finish her mission report in her room," he replied with a grin.
"Oh...ok."
Daisy wandered over to the fridge, slightly more eased than before. The tension that lingered in her shoulders now faded slightly, but she was still on edge. She opened the fridge and grabbed of her favorite soda. Weird. Huh, I thought we ran out last week. Hunter must've bought some while running this weeks errands. She smiled a bit as she pulled out a chair from the table. As soon as she opened her soda, a stream of the clear liquid rushed outward spraying everyone within a few inches of her. Everyone looked around confused until they all started laughing. Daisy laughed a little, but as she turned her head she saw the one and only Melinda May staring at her with a huge smirk playing on her lips. Daisy only stuck out her tongue at her playfully and crossed her arms like a 5 year old.
