I groaned as I came to conscience, a pair of arms pulling me close. Fuck, Mitchel, what now?

A sigh left the lips of what I assumed to be Kennadee as my eyes fluttered open to view a blurry green room. As I shifted a bit the uncomfortable couch squeaked loudly, causing me to look down at the girl in my arms. Asleep Kennadee wasn't defensive or nervous, she was at peace and calm.

She hadn't taken off her makeup last night, a bit smeared under her eyes, though it was mostly still intact except for her eyeliner that was on my bare chest beside her head.

My fingers twirled through her dark hair as I heard Christian and his girlfriend shift in the chair across from Kennadee and me. In my peripheral vision I saw that the blonde girl had sat up and slid carefully from my best friends arms and out the door towards the bus where she went every morning to study. I make sure not to take my eyes off of the sleeping girl who was latched onto my torso.

Resting my head on her forehead I watched as she breathed, inhales we're softer and exhales were perfectly calm. I don't know what I was expecting her to be like but this was pleasant.

I traced her face with my eyes, memorizing every fine detail from her lips to her cheeks and nose and quite honestly, I could get used to that. She was quite honestly gorgeous and it made me slightly anxious.

My last serious relationship was in year ten. It was a dumb, secondary school romance that was really the worst heartache I put myself though. Sure, I'd fucked around (I'll admit) and made some mistakes but they weren't memorable.

Kennadee's grip tightened around me and I felt her legs tangle mine. I continued to rub her back in a hopefully consoling manner to whatever was making her suddenly tense. It seemed to work alright.

I hadn't realized she had woken up until she yawned, earning me a punch to the chest. "Don't stare at me." she murmured sleepily, causing me to chuckle. "I'm ugly." her last comment made me furrow my brow. What tbe fuck was she on?. "Dove, I don't know what you're talking about." I said equally as tired, a smile to my lips "You're beautiful."
