The girl in front of me was grinning ear to ear, anticipating her turn to face the boggart. She stepped forward, and the boggart revealed her biggest fear: snakes. Her grin quickly faded away, but she remembered what Professor Lupin had told us. "ridiculous!" She cried, and in a moment the cobra transformed into a ginormous jack-in-the-box.
As she stepped away, I felt my excitement rise within me. I don't know my greatest fear, and now I would finally discover what it was. I looked up at the boggarts eyes, waiting for it to change. The world seemed to stop, for nothing was happening. I jutted out my chin, and squinted my eyes-waiting. After a minute or so, I couldn't take it, and the jack-in-the-box leaned toward me, I smacked it right in the face!
"You stupid boggart! You we're supposed to tell me my greatest fear!" I screamed,"Ridiculous, ridiculous, ridiculous!" Transforming the creature, into a few things but finally ended with an ant, which I proceeded to stomp on. I walked away and sat on a desk, and lowered my head. "Why didn't it change?" I wondered.
I looked up, at the popping sound which I had longed to hear. The boy behind me didn't have any of my problems. Suddenly I stared Voldemort in the eye. I saw the boy crumble to the ground as he noticed two of his friends' bodies on the ground. I recognized the classmates, one was the nerdy brunette girl who was top of the class, and the other was a ginger who was Harry's best friend. Ron and Hermione, I believe we're their names.
"You are powerless," spoke He-who-must-not-be-named,"and you cannot prevent your friends or family from death" and with each word move dead bodies appeared on the floor. His parents, Fred and George, the families of his friends, Hagrid, but something strange happened, when a red-headed girl stood next to Voldemort. For a moment, the setting flickered, to a dark corridor, with water on the floor, and carvings of snakes on the wall. I saw the ginger girl appear on the floor with a black book in hand.
I feared that Harry would start crying when his friend, Ron, shouted,"Oi! Mate, it's just an illusion!"
And with this the boy-who-lived, shouted "Ridiculous!" just as Voldemort had screamed the killing curse. A blast of green light, and yellow light fought for dominance. Harry looked back at the kid that had shouted, and with new power he turned to glare at the dark lord and watch as his power overtook the others. With a flash of light, Voldemort was transformed into a clown, causing some girl to scream. Apparently, clowns were her greatest weakness. This only produced some nervous laughter from my classmates.
The professor, swiftly stepped forward, and banished the boggart to the closet.
This drama that occurred did not, in any way, lessen my worries. For the rest of the day, I was distraught-why hadn't the boggart changed before me?
After all my classes were over I headed to professor Lupins classroom. I knocked on the door.
"Come in!" Came the reply. I gently opened the door, and shuffled in.
"Um...erm...sir, I was just wondering, if perhaps, I could, I dunno, try to defeat the boggart again?"
"Well, I don't see why not."
