"Please don't do this" she whispered.
ignoring her, he tightened his brutal grip on her upper arms and pulled her closer until their bodies were fused together from shoulder to. her loins long filled to overflowing Pulsed urgently against his insistence arousal. Unable to summon the strength or will to pull away, dizzy with lust, Marley dropped her bag, clutched his trembling fore arms and prayed her knees would hold out.
"Gosh Marley" he murmured, nuzzling her cheek and the sensitive hollow below her ear until his hot breath singed her skin.
"I've missed you so much"
Marley stiffened and the world rushed back. That one word was cold water in her veins. Memories of that night 6 years ago flashed before her eyes, breaking his spell over her. For God sake she has a daughter plus she is married and she's doing this? With a cry she jerked away, wrenching out of his arms before he could kiss her.
"stop this right now stephan"
he froze. his stunned wide gaze holding hers. Obviously bewildered, he reached for her again and she furiously slapped his hand away.
"I told you to stop"
But he didn't listen. Rather he pulled her right into his arms and kiss her until she was breathless and Euphoric and butterflies all lay punch drunk and delirious.
A pulsed flickered along her jaw and her eyes filled with anger. Not knowing what else to do, her hand rose up and slapped him really hard.
"how - how dare you do this?! " she shrieked. "how dare you kiss me? I told you to stop and yet he continued. Damn you Stephan! " she shoved him hard on the chest as if she actually thought she could throw him out, he stood his ground. His heart thundering.
"we both know you belong to me-"
she held up her hand to interrupt him.
"now that is where you are wrong. " Raising her left hand, she showed him her ring finger. "I'm married stephan"
He winced as he observed this invisible knife through his heart. she's married. he began to move backward, away from her. he really screwed up, big time. Sitting down at the closest couch, he grunted and slouched more deeply into his chair. his face darkened into that brooding look she recognised. "you're married, I see. "
Marley just stood there not sure of what to do. she marched stiffly to the couch that was beside her and sat. her purse and coat clutched in her lap as if they could somehow shield her from this man's overwhelming masculinity. when he leaned down to rest his elbow on his powerful thighs, his face was right at eye level with hers. She waited for him to say something but no word came out of his mouth.
He clutched his hands together, dropping his head as if to gather his thoughts. Finally, he looked up at heels, his expression troubled. He took a deep breath. "You got any children?"
"Just one, Masie. She's four." She replied curtly, not minding how he felt.
"Hmm, I see" He replied nodding his head. Staring intently at her, he noticed she wasn't wearing the locket he left her with.
"What happened to the locket I gave you?"
"You really expect me to wear it, after you left me? "She ventured.
He stood up and began to pace round, slowly not really sure of what else to say. He sat at the arm of the couch which was right next to hers.
"You should've waited Marley"
Marley's expression darkened impotently. She obviously didn't like Stephan's edict. She stared at him with burning fury in her eyes, she could barely control the urge to punch him. He was crazy. That's it is. He was just plain crazy.
"Stephan, you are completely insane. yes. You expect me to wait? for good six years you have been gone and you expect me to wait! Doing what exactly? what if you died-"
"but I didn't"
" what if you did die? Huh? besides you told me to move on and I did. I have moved on, I'm married and I have a 4 year old daughter who is waiting for me. so if you don't mind, "
she picked up her bag and stood up. "I have to go right now. I'm not having this conversation with you. " he stood up and laughed derisively.
" you're trying to run off aren't you?"
Like she said she was not in the mood to have this conversation with him. she stalked towards the door, fishing around in her bag for her keys.
"I'm leaving. I'll send an agent to meet with you on Saturday. "
something twisted inside his gut. he waited breathlessly for a reason to come forth but none came out so he decided to ask for it.
"and what is your reason for doing it? You are trying to avoid me right?"
Emotions flashed across her face as readable as a type that crawled across the bottom of the TV screen during the news. He saw her inmate desire not to make a scene in his house struggle with the need to tell the truth. in the end the truth won out. "yes I am. "
He felt a vast disappointment. He rather like Marley and would have been pleased to think she had some soft feelings for him, but he was wrong. it will be impossible for her to like him, not after what he did. He walked towards her more interested in this conversation that he could remember being in anything else for a long time. "why? "
She sighed not of relief but of frustration. For God sake how many times was she going to tell him that she doesn't want to talk about him, about her, about what happened six years ago, about anything? he just doesn't give up, He never will and his persistence may put her in real trouble with her husband. she glanced at her wristwatch and saw she was an hour late to pick her daughter. she began to wonder how long she spent in this house with him.
"I'm late Stephan, the remaining details of the house you can tell it to the new agent."
she unlocked the door then turned to look at him, "goodbye" and without waiting for his reply she walked out and shut the door behind her.
Marley felt her heart throb painfully as she got into her car. Why does it hurt so much just by looking at him or hearing his voice? She bit her lips hard to hold the tears that were ready to fall from her eyes. She wasn't going to cry for him or because of him. He doesn't deserve it. She started the car geared the engine and drove off and would not dare to dream of a returning back to him.
Her eyes widened when one of Masie's teacher told her Joshua had already picked her.
"when did he come? "
"About 30 minutes ago ma'am. "
She's dead. she knew she was going to die. No one needed to tell her the kind of argument was going to have with Joshua. Quickly without hesitation, she ran to her car and headed straight home.
When she was gone, Stephan paced back and forth in his big sitting room facing certain realities. Marley was right, what if she waited for him and what if he actually died?
what if?
He couldn't think straight right now. He headed straight to his bar and grabbed a bottle of tequila. Without looking for a cup, he opened it and gulped it till it was half the bottle. he didn't care how he was going to do it but all he knew was that he was going to get his Marley back.
