“Why don't you go and ask him?" Her mother in law suggested and Jeannette gulped walking out of the room calling her husband back.
Isabella looked back at Julia and her grandmother with a sudden fearful feeling within herself, wringing her hands together.
"Oh, the grandmother I really hope this works... I hope he might even abandon the party...I really don't want him to choose a suitor for me tonight already!!" The fear trickled through her voice and her grandmother gave an encouraging smile placing her arm around the girl.
"But darling you should speak up and tell them about the letter!"
"I cannot. You know they will not believe me and you know father will never believe in something like that, he simply isn't that religious."
The older woman gave a nod, placing her other arm around Julia's shoulders,
"True... Your father has never been a real faithful man...but honey with God anything is possible."
"I guess all we can do now is pray."
Julia suggested and they nodded in agreement and then looked up when they heard Jeannette's shocked shrieks....
"What?! You were married three times beforehand?! Why did you never tell me this?!" Her voice spoke openly of her feelings at that moment.
And at that moment Jeannette felt like she might just be going impractical from blind anger as she glared down at Andreas.
Through all these years she has by now gotten used to him lying and pretending to be something he is not but she never thought he would patronize so low as to lie to her about his past. Especially about this type of past that is an absolute must know.
"I didn't think it was important Jeannette!"
Andreas growled and she gasped throwing her hands up. Unbelievable!!
Was it that she kept this amount of secrets between them he would have destroyed her!
"Not important?! You had a child out of that marriage for crying out loud, how is that not important?!" She almost uproariously screamed and doubt was now setting in whether she really was his fourth wife or was there perhaps more divorces before her that he also keeps a secret.
He rolled his eyes as if her outrage really wasn't that big of an issue and he chose to change the subject, to avoid even speaking of it. "Can we not do this now?"
"And why not Andreas? Are you afraid I might find out that you have lied about other things too besides the usual things that you think I don't know about? Do you know what is hilarious though? The very fact that you will not keep your whores and cheap fucks a secret but a marriage you choose to deny even happening?!"
He ignored her completely as if she didn't even exist and Jeannette thumped down on the table with both hands even though she knew she was perhaps asking for one of his rage fits.
"Stop overreacting Jeannette. This is not that serious of an issue." He suddenly said his eyes warning her of trouble if she should choose to continue this questioning of her but she was beyond reasoning.
Everything aches inside of her, her world seemed to slowly be crushed bit by bit inside of her and it frustrated her that he has no care for that. It is as if he expects everyone to be heartless and emotionless because he is like that.
