The Journey

I grabbed my flash light and knife and headed back to the car to grab my bag. Once I grabbed it, I started my journey once more.

While I was walking through the forest I started to think about what my life would have been like if none of this happened. It was Wednesday. I started to smile. I would  be at the beach drawing today. It really didn't matter what I drew. I drew anything that stuck out to me; whether it was people, animals, or even the ocean and sand.

The roaring of a river brought me back to reality. The water was flowing downstream rapidly.  How am I going to get across this?  I started to look around for something I could use to get across. There was nothing that I could find that would be of use to me. I tried to put my foot in the water to see if I could walk across. The river is too deep and the current is to strong I would be swept away.

I started to scale the river up and down and all of a sudden I saw a series of rocks scattered by a small drop in the river. I would have to hop and stretch my legs to step on the rocks and get across. So I started to. One foot here. Carefully place the other one here. I started to stretch my leg to the right to step on the rock and almost slipped but I regained my balance. I started to place my foot on the other rock in front of me when I herd this loud bang.

AAAAAAHHH!!! I screamed at the top of my lungs. My body plunged into the cold rushing body of water. It took me second to realize what happened and I started to swim to the top. The current had pushed me off the small drop. The current was still pushing me downstream. I started swimming to a rock I saw up ahead.I climbed atop of it and sat down. I began to look around. I started to smile.

Yes, of course i'm wet and shivering cold. But at least I was alive and best of all I was almost to the other side of the river. I then proceeded to get up and make my over to the other side.

When I got there I sprawled out on the grass. There was never a time when I was so happy to be on dry land. I took off my book bag which surprisingly  stayed  on my back when I fell into the water.  I opened it and grabbed out a shirt and shorts. Oh thank god they're not wet. On after thought, I silently commended myself for buying a water-proof book bag. Then again it would make sense that I would because I was always at the beach.I proceeded to take off my wet clothes and then put on the dry ones.

After that I grabbed my book bag and started walking. Pretty soon I came came to a highway at the end of the woods. It was scattered with cars. Either crashed into each other or just sitting in the middle of the street. I made my way down the shoulder to an exit further down the road. The exit led to a city called Shadowhill.
