Hey people! This is my first story and if you are reading this, I thank you very very much for trying to figure out my absolutely horrific writing. The ships are Sophitz, Tiana, and Denh. I don't know who to ship Keefe with yet... if you have any ideas—apart from those who are already being shipped, let me know! Today is November 5, 2018. Flashback is released tomorrow! Special occasion for my first part. Anyways, hope you enjoy(and sorry for the long authors note)!
Sophie PoV
Sophie was getting ready for Foxfire again. It was strange how familiar she had gotten with the noble Elvin school. She was brushed, showered, and changed in instants, this time into a red uniform complete with its own dorky half cape. She didn't bother with her hair until she looked in the mirror.
"Oh no...." Sophie stared in frustration and slight amusement at the blonde cloud sticking out from her head. "Vertina? A little help here." she sighed.
Almost immediately, a tiny head popped up in the corner of her mirror and burst into laughter at the sight of Sophie's hair.
"Wow...so...um... I'm assuming that's what you need help with?" she said when she'd caught her breath. Nodding, Sophie asked, "What can you do?"
"Well first get some bobby pins and I'll show you what could make it better."
Soon, Vertina had guided Sophie through a similar hairstyle that she had shown Sophie the first time that Sophie had bad hair. This time though, the ponytail had a braid weaving through it.
"Thanks a lot, Vertina."
"Well, you definitely needed to do something about that mess," Vertina smirked.
Sophie glared at her and then stalked downstairs past Sandor for breakfast.
"Hey, kiddo. Ready for your first day--" Grady stopped when he noticed Sophie's hair. "You look great!"
"Thanks," Sophie mumbled, eating her orange mush. "It's pretty exciting that Fitz and Keefe are going to the gold tower this year huh? It's gonna be weird not seeing them around."
"I'm sure you'll see them enough," Grady replied.
Sophie finished and got up.
"Bye Mom!" she called as she headed to the leapmaster.
The opening ceremonies had been finished the previous day, and today was the official first day of Foxfire.
"Foxfire!" Sophie called to the leapmaster. A crystal hung down and caught the sun, creating a ray of light that she vanished into.
After Sophie had finished all of her lessons for the day, she was heading for the leapmaster when Biana caught up with her.
"Hey Sophie, can I come over today?"
"Sure, come on!" Sophie agreed, wondering what Biana had to say.
Soon they were at Havenfield.
"Do you kids want some mallowmelt? I just made some fresh!" Edaline asked.
"Thanks, Mom!" Sophie replied, grabbing the tray and running upstairs.
Biana followed, and the two headed to Sophie's room."So what do you want to do?"
"Well, nothing in particular. I just thought it might be fun to just hangout, especially now that the boys are gone," Biana replied.
"I guess that is true..."
"Makeovers!" Biana squealed as a light bulb practically popped up over her head.
Sophie rolled her eyes and sighed, knowing that Biana wouldn't give up.
"Pleaseeeeee?" Biana pleaded.
"Fine," Sophie agreed as she knew it would make her friend happy.
Biana quickly celebrated, before pulling out her makeup and beauty supplies, which she somehow always had on her.
The teal-eyed girl wasted no time in uncorking a bottle with a milky pink liquid inside.
"Drink it," she told Sophie, "it's for your hair."
Sophie obliged, and in around two seconds, her blonde hair bounced up in soft curls.
Biana started her makeup. Sophie watched in silence, completely bamboozled about which was which and how they all worked, as Biana added the final touches and told Sophie to look in the mirror.
Unfortunately, the only one Sophie owned happened to be Vertina.
"Wow..." the tiny girl breathed as Sophie admired herself, "you finally did something!"
"I know right? Doesn't she look great?" Biana asked Vertina.
"I supposed you did it? Well, you certainly have better taste than her."
Sophie stared at herself as Biana and Vertina started to chat like best friends. Her eyes were lined with black, with gold eyeshadow. Her lips were painted a soft pink. Her hair was half up in an intricate braid that crowned her head, with a few strands framing her face.
"Do you like it?" Biana asked, turning back to Sophie.
"It's nice," Sophie replied, glad that Biana hadn't gone too overboard.
"Okay, then time to pick out a dress! Do you have any you like?"
"Honestly, I haven't even made a dent in the haul that Della and Edaline brought me," she admitted.
"No time like now!" Biana said cheerily, and Sophie began to sense her impending doom of frills, chiffon, and glitter.
Half an hour later, Sophie was covered in sparkle shedding from the lacy, poofy gowns that Biana had tossed back to her.
"What about this?" Biana offered, holding up a lavender gown with way too much chiffon and a train.
"No way!" Sophie exclaimed.
Turning back to the closet, Biana tossed it back, and pulled out another, gasping as Sophie craned her neck to get a peek.
"It's beautiful..." Biana breathed.
She abruptly spun around, and smacked Sophie in the face as she stood to get a better look.
"Oops... sorry..." Biana apologized.
"It's fine," Sophie groaned, "now let me see that dress!"
Biana held it up, and Sophie gasped. It really was beautiful.
The dress was long, red, and simple. It sported modest half sleeves that belled out, and a wrap-around style body with a satin sash embroidered with roses and studded with diamonds.
"You like it, don't you?" Biana guessed, "go try it on!"
Sophie grabbed it and walked into the bathroom to change.
"You look beautiful!" Biana commented as Sophie walked out.
"Thanks," Sophie replied, blushing.
Suddenly, Biana let out a giggle.
"What?" Sophie questioned suspiciously.
"Nothing. I just realized that I have the perfect shoes for that dress! And you're coming with me to get it."
"Okay... but why do I need to—"
"You are coming, whether you like it or not," Biana interrupted.
"Fine, but they better not be heels. At least not more than one inch."
"Don't worry, Soph. Let's go!"
Sophie sighed and led Biana to the Leapmaster.
"Everglen!" Biana said, and they disappeared into the light.
