Author's Note
Chapter 3 is about to begin!
Hmm, this is probably gonna take ages...
Bête in this chapter is a bad mannered wolf guy from an anime called Sword Oratoria.
Then there is Jackal and the dark guild Tartaros from Fairy Tail ( I absolutely love Jackal).
I might be using a few different songs.
Well, enjoy!
Triss x"Honey, it's time to wake up. Mika made pancakes for breakfast."
I watched my mum caress my younger selfs' glossy hair as I lay on the warm looking bed, curled up in a tight ball.
I was somehow floating over this scene from the past, making my head swirl a bit from confusion. When I had glanced at my hands, they were slightly faded, and I imagined the rest of my body was the same, probably making me look like a ghost."What is this?" I muttered, gazing at the pristine form of my mum, her chestnut hair tied in a loose braid running on the left side of her head. Her eyes were a sparkling blue and her face flawless, no wrinkles evident.
I don't even know how I got here. The last thing I remembered was that cannonball from the attacking ship coming towards me.
Is this thing that people say what happens when you die? Like, your whole life flashes before your eyes?
I thought that you watch your life from the start.Lauruette stirred and her eyes flickered open and her mouth spread into a wide grin at the sight of her mum's warm smile and calm eyes.
"Is daddy home yet?" Lauruette questioned, squirming into a sitting position, moving the lightweight blankets off of her.I winced at the tactless question. Dad at that time, and he still is, was currently being forced to work just to protect us, his family, by a group of demons called 'Tartaros'.
Who knows when he'll be back?
But I wish he would be back for my next birthday.By the looks of my younger self, this must be taking place when I was around 6 or 7.
I didn't have all my unique tattoos or onyx ear piercings, only a singular sapphire stud in each ear. I also didn't have my shining engagement ring.
My eyes were bright, my current worries non-existent, the darkness that haunts me replaced with hope and light.
If I was around 6, that meant my youngest sister, Lilja, hadn't been born yet, or she was just very young.
The latter was seemingly correct, by the looks of my mum's flat stomach.
Lilja was currently 16 years old, 8 almost 9 years younger than me.
She was the kind of girl who could light up the room when she smiles. Lilja was currently still living on our home island with mum.My bedroom was a pale blue with the ceiling painted to look like a cloudy sky with the sun peeking out from behind a cloud in the corner. Several dragons were swirling across the walls, all in varying shades of blues, greens, reds and a single, lonesome pure white Chinese style dragon on the wall above the head of my bed.
The white dragon's eyes were a smouldering red with hints of gold.
It was that certain dragon that the tattoo on my ankle was based off.Mum winced, but covered it up so Lauruette wouldn't see.
"He'll be home soon, I promise." Mum murmured, stepping back as Lauruette nodded then wriggled out of the bed, throwing back the covers then stretching her arms.
"So did Mika cook for us?" Lauruette asked, yawning slightly as she finished stretching her arms.
"Yes, she did, and you better hurry before Miia eats all of them." Mum teased with a gentle smile.
Lauruette gasped, then took off towards the door, hurling it open and screeching out:
"Miia! You better not have eaten all of the pancakes!"
Miia was my younger sister by 2 years and she was the reason I was heading to Water 7, so I could see her after 16 years.
Yeah, I haven't seen her for ages.
Actually, I haven't seen any members of my family for awhile.
Miia was always so energetic and joyful. I needed her to brighten my life, just like the sun will light up the world after a long night.
I had gained the information on her whereabouts on an island awhile back whilst eavesdropping on a conversation between a couple of pirates whilst they were discussing getting a major repair for their ship.
The name that that my mum mentioned earlier, Mika, she was one of my other sisters, but I wasn't exactly sure how old she was. My guess was that she was between 30 and 40.
Which meant my mum had to be around 60? Who knows.
I grinned at my adorable younger self as she left sprinting to the dining area, then I glanced back to mum.
She had slumped onto the bed and was skittering her hands nervously across her knees.
What's wrong?
"I don't even know when I'll next see Jackal, and Chronos gave me the next order, she paused to take a deep breath. "I need him here. I don't want to see another of my children leave, just like Spark, Lavender and Liana. Oh, Bête, please look after them."
Wait.
Who is Chronos?
What does 'next order' mean?
Who are Spark, Lavender and Liana?
Who's Bête?
I floated down from the ceiling and to the bed, sitting down beside my mum.
Mum now had her eyes close, taking deep controlled breaths, still running her hands across her knees.
I gazed at her, then attempted to place my left hand on her shoulder, only for it to pass right through.
Mum gave a slight shudder as my hand drifted through her shoulder, opening her eyes to look to where I was sitting, only to see nothing.
I didn't even know what was wrong and I was so confused at her words, but I placed my lips close to her ear and whispered a simple but important 4 word sentence.
"Everything will be fine."
Mum gasped and glanced around the room, then she visibly relaxed and removed her hands from her knees to place each hand on their opposite hip.
"Everything will be fine." She repeated.
Mum sighed wearily, then stood up, putting on a bright smile. As she approached the wide open door, she glanced back to where I was still sitting on the bed.
"Thank you."
She muttered, then turned and left, boots clicking on the stone floor.
I stared after her, cocking my head to the side.
Hmm.
Seems like there are some things about my family that I don't yet know...
I pondered over my thoughts, sighing in frustration as nothing revealed itself.
Then my body started throbbing. I groaned and clutched at my chest. My eyes closed and my breathing became erratic.
What the hell is happening?!
Why does everything hurt?
Then my mind blacked and my ghostlike form faded completely.
